The sound of birds chirping in the distance, the smell of wet grass on a bright summer morning. Fay sighed as she took her first breath of the morning air. Her long brown hair flowing in the wind. Her Dark brown eyes shine like the sun. "What a wonderful morning." She said as she took a step into the warm sun. She took a deep breath and started to walk down her front porch. She made her way to a tall oak tree in her front yard, and sat down underneath it. Enjoying nature. Enjoying the peace. Until Jake, Fay's annoying 9 year old neighbor, walked up to her. Fay looked at him and glared. "What are you doing?" Jake asked, looking down at her. Fay rolled her eyes but before she could answer, he replied for her saying, "Never mind. I don't wanna hear about you trying to 'connect' with the spirits!" He laughed and walked off. Leaving Fay there with her thoughts. "That wasn't as bad I thought it would be." She mumbled. After about 10 minutes just sitting there, listening to the warm breeze of the wind, the birds chirping, and the sound of one of her neighbors mowing their lawn, her older sister, Evelyn walked out. "Can you still feel her?" Fay slowly looked up at her sister and sighed. "Yeah... I try hard not to. But I just can't. It's like she's a part of me." Evelyn looked down. thinking of how she could say this.
"The day mom left..." Evelyn paused. How could she say this? "she... she made me promise... to take care of you." Evelyn looked at Fay who was now looking at her. "Anyway. The reason I'm saying this.. is because... I think..." She paused again. "I think... you should go to Lunas school." Evelyn then stood up. Looked back at Fay, And said "Just think about it. It could do you some good..." She turned and walked away. Fay sat there just thinking about school. She needed to go to school. Evelyn couldnt just homeschool her for the rest of her life. She needed to go to college and get a better job. 'Life was so much easier when mom was around...' Fay thought. About a year ago, Fays, mom had ran away. Fay remembered it like it was yesterday. They were all eating chicken and mashed potatoes. Like normal. Fays mom didnt know how to cook anything else. She sat down and looked at the greasy, delicious chicken. Her mouth watering at the smell. "You must be hungrgoo
