The opportunity to apply for this fantastic opportunity to participate in the field study that will take place in Malawi in October 2023 excites me. As it relates to my degree and the research I will soon be conducting, which will evaluate the variety and distribution of Bulinus snails throughout water ponds in urban settings of Dar es salaam city. For sure studying aquatic life and the ecosystems is something I am really interested in. I graduated from St. Joseph University in Tanzania in 2021 and am currently enrolled in the master's program here at the university of Dar es salaam. I happened to get the chance of doing a mini-research project during this time called "Assessment of Microbial Activities in Serving Utensils Used by Street Vendors in Dar es Salaam Region." With this little experience, I think that this field school will provide me more knowledge, which will help me become a better researcher in the future. I am inspired to participate in this field school study because it will build a solid foundation of skills and abilities that I may utilize in my research and in the future. Additionally, I will get the chance to interact with people from different countries to share experiences and ideas, which will improve my ability to get along with and collaborate with people from many cultures. Droughts, floods, and the spread of contaminated diseases, the most recent of which is cholera, are just a few of the disasters that occur here in Tanzania as a result of poor environmental protection. Being one of the more educated Tanzanians, this study will allow me to contribute to improving the country's environmental conditions and ensuring that the environment is well-conserved by protecting both flora and fauna, which goes hand in hand with minimizing diseases. When offered the wonderful opportunity to participate in this field school study, I vow to give my full cooperation and work with the other field school participants under the guidance of the teachers. My goal will be the team's goal, and I'll put in a lot of effort to make sure we accomplish all the goals within the allotted time frame.
