SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

ATTENDEES FOR THE SCIENCE DEPARTMENT
The second DLAC session of the Science Department was held on November
25, 2022, Friday. It was done in two opposite sessions, the morning session was
attended by Grade 8 and 9 teachers while the afternoon session was
participated by Grade 7 and 10 teachers. The following teachers were present
in the afternoon session:

LAC Session 2 is entitled “Integration of Different Strategies in Application
of Content Knowledge”, and was facilitated by the Science Department Head, Mr.
Elbert Bryan Tagle. He reiterated that a teacher’s content knowledge should be
anchored on theories and principles and should be based on scientific facts and
concepts. Along the application of content knowledge, he also discussed some
strategies in applying content knowledge within and across curriculum areas.
Following the discussion, the teachers were asked to have some practice on
integration within and across curriculum areas through group dynamics. The
outputs were then presented by a representative from each group. Critiquing and
feedbacking were also done during the presentation.
