LESSON 1
LET’S DO IT
Question: If you will use this as a tool on teaching a particular content, what would it be? With whaat
grade level will this work? Using Edgar’s Cone of Learning. To which band would you categorize the use
of this material?
Make belief comix is useful in teaching contents such as showing a conversation or even
symbolizing the realities of life. On my opinion, this can be applicable in every grade
level especially it features a visual type of learning. Using Edgar’s Cone of Learning, this
material is under various stages, I believe, such as Direct- purposeful experience and
Picture and visual symbols given that this two can be found in the material.
LET’S CONNECT THE DOTS
A. How are the experiences of reality arranged in the cone of Experience?
According to Dale, the arrangement of the cone was based upon abstraction and the
quantity of sense involved. As well as the arrangement of the realities in the cone of
experience from concrete, active actual and the least tangible one as well as from
complex activities that requires lots of senses to the least use of senses.
B. Is the base of the arrangement of experiences difficulty of experience or degree of abstraction?
I think the basis of the arrangement is degree of abstraction.
LET’S SEE WHATS ON YOUR MIND
1. The cone of experience provides teaching and learning models that allows teachers to
understand how to increase the retention rate of learners by involving the learners. Teaching
fraction to a grader, it must start with letting them answer few equations to let them explore
what will be their lesson regardless of their knowledge (direct purposeful experience), then
allow them to see symbols and things that are representation of the lessons (contrived
Experience) , after letting them observe, present to them the facts of your lesson with an aid of
the pictures and symbols shown to them. And lastly allow them to do the problem once more
with the knowledge they have.
2. Reading is a fun thing to do not only that is helps us from not getting bored it allows us to
explore knowledge beyond a different world. Although comics and illustrated novels are a great
reading material reading teachers discourages us from reading such materials because it
encompasses little senses.
3. Much of the children’s knowledge is not based on their own experiences but by the inputs of
others as well. In this way some children can identify objects they have not yet seen but they
have heard of.
4. Upon the development of the world ICT tools have become popular technique to make classes
more interesting. By the help of various ICT tools such as animated videos, quizzes the students
may find learning stimulating as well as it allows them to be more creative and active.
LET’S DIG UP MORE
1. The arrangement of the experiences of reality in the cone of experience is based on the degree
of abstraction and the use of senses. Starting from the complex use of senses to the least use of
senses.
2. The basis of the arrange is on the degree of abstraction and the involvement of senses.
3. On my own opinion, it is more accurate to think that the cones overlap and bends into one
another. Because the experiences from different stages can be mixed and interrelated that
fosters more meaningful learning.
4. No, because on the very begging young children uses many simple abstractions- verbal symbols
which can be found from the top of the pyramid on the cone of experience therefore the cone
does not suggest that all teaching and learning must move systematically from base to pinnacle.
5. No, it is more useful if we use various sensory experiences. This makes the learning more
stimulating as well as different sensory experiences allows to be innovative, creative and active.
6. Yes, much reliance on a concrete experience may actually obstruct the process of meaningful
generalization. It is more relevant to say that learning is aided by direct experiences
7. It is true that the older the person the more abstract is his thinking but on my humble opinion
the cone experiences is not by part but it applies for all regardless of the age. It is not
automatically given but learning is gradual whether you are old or you are young.
8. Based on my observation: By the use of Bruner’s three-tier learning process. Dale was able to
group the cone of experiences. For this reason it is much needed to say that the cone was
related to Brunner’s Three-tier.


TPACK is a technology integration framework that can help in identifying the types of knowledge
to combine for a successful EdTech integration. It also helps teachers to effectively and engage
students to technology.

LET’S SEE WHATS ON YOUR MIND
AN EFFECTIVE TEACHER
Gerald Belcher quoted “It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression
and knowledge”. To be a great teacher does not solely mean that you memorized your lessons well, that
you are able to articulate your lessons well. But it is on how effective you are in a sense that your
students are able to think and formulate questions and be creative in ways. Probably, one of the
questions a teacher has in mind is “Ho w to be an effective teacher?” How can I give the utmost
opportunities for my students?”. Teaching is not just talking in front of various students but teaching is
helping those persons mold their futures.
As demand of education increases, the methods as well are being increased to a level that would
meet such needs. One of these is the use of various theoretical framework which has it own importance
to effective teaching. Theoretical framework is defined as the structure that can hold or support a
research study. In education, this can be an aid to a teacher in creating an effective learning classroom
that will help them to identify such as behaviors and development of a student. That will he helpful in
creating integrations for a further improvement of both the teacher and the learner. Especially for a
teacher to provide not only an effective learning environment but also to provide a systematical form of
teaching.
Therefore, theoretical frameworks is relevantly important in effective teaching.

1. I have learned in this lesson that ASSURE model is a procedural guide for planning and delivering
instructions that integrates technology and media into the teaching process.
I also learned that ASSURRE stands for
Analyze Learners
State Objectives
Select Methods, Media and Materials
Utilize Methods, Media and Materials
Require Learners Participation
Evaluate Student Performance
2. As a future educator, I can use this model in integrating an effective teaching/ With this I will be
able to teach systematically and able to provide the need for education of my students as well
as I can use this in assessing the learning of the students.
3. In this lesson I understand that, as future educator I must be aware of the different methods of
teaching so that I might be able to effectively teach.
4. If there are lessons that are hard to understand, I will study it thoroughly and read more articles
that are related to the lesson.

In selecting the participants, I
made sure that the participants
are able to think widely with

Will allow the students to not
only be spoon-fed but for them
to interact and formulate their

INSIGHTS
If I’m going to teach, I will let my students do a demonstration or reporting of what they understand of
the lesson with the use of materials and Technologies such as PowerPoint presentation, utilizing laptop
and projectors. Or they can choose an option of using visual aids in the demonstration. And will allow
them to be creative and knowledgeable at the same time.
LET’S SEE WHATS ON YOUR MIND
1. Give three realization that you have gained from integrating technology in instruction
a. Technology is a great tool in teaching
b. Technology allows but the teacher and learner to be innovative
c. Learning is possible in both physical and virtual.
2. Give two questions that you would like you ask in relations to how technology can be integrated
in a lesson
a. How can we ensure that the use of technology integrate an effective learning?
b. What are the appropriate tools to be used?
3. Name one thing that you have enjoyed in using a technology in a lesson
a. PowerPoint
LET’S DIG UP MORE
1. I will use technology in my lesson plan when my lessons are related to technology and if
necessary.
2. In selecting a technology tool to be integrated in a lesson I should make sure that the tools
used are appropriate and will not cause any distractions or disturbance to the lesson.
3. I will implement technology tools to make my students connect with the lesson itself.
4. An example of technology integration in a lesson is using PowerPoint when presenting as
well as using Canva and other platforms in creating digital posters.
5. A creative way of using a mobile tool in a lesson is using tools for creating collage and video
presentations.
