HW 1
1) Why do you think that the current global supply chain is facing inventory shortages?
The perfect storm! Covid, slow recovery from Covid, ship that got stuck in the Suez
Canal, and the Ukraine war.
2) Could you list three inventory shortages that you have either experienced or read about
recently?
 Make sure you have at least one item from personal experience and describe
that experience in a few lines.
My experience, as narrated in class, was with autoparts for my car steering and tie-rod.
The problem was discovered in May 2022, I ordered the parts right then, and the dealer
said it could take until the end of December. Fortunately, the parts arrived in early
September and the repairs took place. However, I have never experience this sort of
delay before at Toyota.

