Galatians 2:19-21
19 “For
through the law I died to the law so that I
might live for God. 20 I have been crucified with
Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in
me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith
in the Son of God, who loved me and gave
himself for me. 21 I do not set aside the grace of
God, for if righteousness could be gained
through the law, Christ died for nothing!”[a]

JESUS
ACCORDING TO
PAUL
The Supremacy of the Son of God
15 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn over all creation. 16 For in him all things
were created: things in heaven and on earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers
or rulers or authorities; all things have been
created through him and for him. 17 He is before
all things, and in him all things hold
together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the
church; he is the beginning and the
firstborn from among the dead, so that in
everything he might have the supremacy. 19 For
God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in
him,
Galatians 1:13-14
13 For
you have heard of my previous way of life in Judaism, how
intensely I persecuted the church of God and tried to destroy it. 14 I was
advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people
and was extremely zealous for the traditions of my fathers.

ACCORDING TO
PAUL
Acts 7:57-8:3
this they covered their ears and, yelling at the top of their voices,
they all rushed at him, 58 dragged him out of the city and began to
stone him. Meanwhile, the witnesses laid their coats at the feet of a
young man named Saul.
57 At
59 While
they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my
spirit.” 60 Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this
sin against them.” When he had said this, he fell asleep.
8 And Saul approved of their killing him.
On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in
Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea
and Samaria. 2 Godly men buried Stephen and mourned deeply for
him. 3 But Saul began to destroy the church. Going from house to
house, he dragged off both men and women and put them in prison.
Philippians 3:4-6
4 though I myself have reasons for such confidence.
If someone else thinks they have reasons to put confidence in
the flesh, I have more: 5 circumcised on the eighth day, of the
people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews;
in regard to the law, a Pharisee; 6 as for zeal, persecuting the
church; as for righteousness based on the law, faultless.

ACCORDING TO
PAUL (CONT’D)
1 Corinthians 15:9 (55 AD)
9 For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to
be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
Ephesians 3:8 (60 AD)
8 Although I am less than the least of all the Lord’s people, this
grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless
riches of Christ,
1 Timothy 1:15 (63-68 AD)
15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance:
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am
the worst.
