1: Pre-reading behavior - there are activity that don't look like reading at all, but they set the stage for a child to
be come a reader.
2: Learning letters - letter don't have to be taught in alphabetical order.
3: Blending sounds - using a 2or 3 letter words point to be letter and say each sounds.
4: Start introducing sight words - sight words practice can include lash cards hunting for the words in a book and
using computer games.
5: Work with word families- Teach kids that if they can read the "can" then they can also read "man", "pan" and
"fan'.
6: Phonic skills- learning the individual letters is just a foundation I like to follow this sequence as I introduced
others phonics pattern.
