performance!

c. Discussion
In order for us to produce a good
play there are steps that we should
follow in play production and that’s
our lesson for today.
First, the selection of the play in
which you should consider the
artistic and entertainment value of
the play, the audience interest
should also be considered, timely
story plot in which the audience
could relate is highly recommended.
Who can give an example of a timely
story plot?
Very good! Another step is choosing
the aspirant people who will take a
role in the play, the audition. Who
usually has a superior right to choose
the people who will take a role?
Very good! Another step is the
rehearsals. Did you know class that
there are different steps of
rehearsals? First is the reading
sessions which help the actors to

understand their characters and
become familiar with their lines,
second is the blocking which deals
with the positions and movements
on the stage, third is the series of
rehearsal in which the actors already
practice delivering their lines from
memory, get used to using or
carrying the needed props, and they
become committed to their lines and
their persona on the play, fourth is
the technical rehearsal which has
something to do with sets, props,
lighting and sound system of the
play, fifth is the dress rehearsal
which is the same with technical
rehearsal with the costumes added,
and lastly the word rehearsal which
is optional if there are mistakes
made during dress rehearsal.
Another step is the performance
which is the big day or the day of the
performance.
Lastly, the curtain call wherein the
cast come out and take a bow,
usually starting with the minor
characters, to leading actors and the
director.
