Very good! B. Developmental Activities a. Motivation Before we proceed to our new lesson, let’s have an activity first! Are you excited? I will be dividing the class into two groups. Each group should choose a leader and have him/her pick a paper inside the box which contains scenarios/situations that the group will act out. Do you understand class? I will give you 3 minutes to plan and the group leader will have the authority to choose who will act out the scene. Three minutes starts now! Are you ready class? Yes Ma’am Let’s have group 1 to present first (The students will present the scenario) That was excellent group 1! Now, let’s have group 2! (The students will present the scenario) Another excellent performance! Give yourselves around of applause for a job well done group 1 and 2! (The students will clap their hands) b. Presentation Class, do you think that the time I gave to you to practice or to craft your lines is enough? Well, that’s the point of this activity for you to realize how important it is to have practice or rehearsals, nevertheless, it was still a good performance! No Ma’am! Thank you Ma’am! c. Discussion In order for us to produce a good play there are steps that we should follow in play production and that’s our lesson for today. First, the selection of the play in which you should consider the artistic and entertainment value of the play, the audience interest should also be considered, timely story plot in which the audience could relate is highly recommended. Who can give an example of a timely story plot? Very good! Another step is choosing the aspirant people who will take a role in the play, the audition. Who usually has a superior right to choose the people who will take a role? Very good! Another step is the rehearsals. Did you know class that there are different steps of rehearsals? The director Ma’am! understand their characters and become familiar with their lines, second is the blocking which deals with the positions and movements on the stage, third is the series of rehearsal in which the actors already practice delivering their lines from memory, get used to using or carrying the needed props, and they become committed to their lines and their persona on the play, fourth is the technical rehearsal which has something to do with sets, props, lighting and sound system of the play, fifth is the dress rehearsal which is the same with technical rehearsal with the costumes added, and lastly the word rehearsal which is optional if there are mistakes made during dress rehearsal. Another step is the performance which is the big day or the day of the performance. Lastly, the curtain call wherein the cast come out and take a bow, usually starting with the minor characters, to leading actors and the director. Did you understand class? d.
