Although the world has evolved and changed so much over the past few decades, Nixiwaka Yawanawa and his tribespeople have still stayed true to their culture, identity, traditions and history. Indigenous cultures worldwide have learned to adapt western civilization practices and social norms like the English language as a means of communication. Even though they have learned to adapt to western ways, Nixiwaka still practices his culture even though he is now in London and sharing the knowledge to help people understand his way of living. Indigenous tribes have connections to the land and nature. This is important to consider as Nixiwakas home, the Amazon Forest is being cut down due to logging and mining, which is making it hard for him and his people as the Forest isn’t just home for his people but they have a spiritual connection with the forest and nature. As some tribes are still in Isolation their land is really important for them to have as the forest is also their livelihood, everything they have known in life has been in the forest. Nixiwaka proves that his people are loving and caring he is willing for the outside world to learn more about his tribespeople.
