THE DANIDA GREEN BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP
1. Danida Green Business Partnerships is a program that is funded by the Danish
Government through the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) and
implemented in collaboration with the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI).
2. The program aims to promote sustainable economic growth and job creation in
developing countries by supporting partnerships between Danish companies and
companies in the partner countries.
3. The program focuses on developing sustainable solutions within the sectors of energy,
water, agriculture and food, and manufacturing. Danish companies can apply for funding
to partner with companies in eligible countries to develop and implement sustainable
business solutions that can have a positive impact on the environment and local
communities.
4. Through the program, Danish companies can access technical and financial support to
help develop their partnerships and projects, and benefit from the knowledge and
expertise of local partners. The program also aims to promote knowledge sharing and
capacity building between Danish and local companies, and to facilitate market access for
sustainable products and services.
5. The program has supported several partnerships between Danish companies and
companies in Uganda that aim to promote sustainable economic growth and job
creation.
6. For example, in the agriculture and food sector, the program has supported a partnership
between Danish companies and Ugandan companies that aims to improve the
production and processing of sesame seeds in Uganda, while also promoting sustainable
agricultural practices and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
7. In the energy sector, the program has supported a partnership between a Danish
company and a Ugandan company that aims to develop and implement a sustainable
energy solution for a rural village in Uganda, using renewable energy sources.
8. In addition to these partnerships, the program has also provided training and capacity
building opportunities for Ugandan companies and entrepreneurs, and has facilitated
market access for sustainable products and services.
9. Overall, the Danida Green Business Partnerships program has contributed to promoting
sustainable economic growth and environmental sustainability in Uganda, and has helped
to strengthen the partnership between Danish and Ugandan companies.
