ETHICS
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course introduces the philosophical study of morality, including the theory of right
and wrong behavior, the theory of value (goodness and badness), and the theory of
virtue and vice. Besides providing familiarity with the primary questions addressed
within moral philosophy and the most apparent answers given by well-known
philosophers, this course is designed to help students develop their abilities to read,
illustrate, analyze, and evaluate philosophical literature, write and express themselves
well about their own ethical positions, and think critically and analytically about moral
issues.
COURSE OUTCOMES
1. Differentiate between moral and non-moral problems and describe how morality
influences;
2. Apply critical and analytical skills in evaluating ethical issues particularly in the Philippine
setting
3. Use ethical frameworks or principles to analyze moral experiences and make sound
ethical judgments based on principles, facts, and the stakeholders affected;
4. Develop sensitivity to the common good and understand and internalize the principles of
ethical behavior in modern society alongside the upholding of human rights and victim
welfare
