Domain 1. Content Knowledge and Pedagogy
As a teacher, it is very crucial to have the knowledge of your subject matter in order to
effectively deliver the content to your learners. Coming up with strategies in order to
develop the skills of the learners such as implementing different meaningful and creative
activities for active engagement.
For the learners to deeply understand the topic , a teacher should further explain the
concepts and provide clearer examples relating it to other disciplines. Examples of
developing the content knowlegde that can be applied inside the classroom is making
content specific connections between solutions ,formulate questions to be answered by
the learners and organize discussions to be absorbed and interpreted by the learners.
Domain 2. Learning Environment
Enhancing a face to face learning environment is very important for the learners, it is
their workplace and where the effective learning takes place. It is important to consider
this and make sure that they are comfortable with their learning environment, there are no
distractions /disruptions within their surroundings. Setting up the classroom organization,
and the resource materials should be in their arrrangement and into its place, there is also
a reading area wherein the learners are free to read books when they have free time .This
set up is where the learners interact and communicate with others and and they can learn
effectively. Creating an appropriate learning environment contributes a lot and affect the
learners’ behavior , they learn from the environment and connect with others.
I have observed that the learners participation and engagement within the classroom
plays a vital role for developing their behavior, establishing Classroom Routines and
Procedures so they can be responsible and secure that there is a proper order and avoiding
of conflicts. Through this, Learners are able to do their duties as part of the class , the
sense of responsibility they are to posess and these rules bring them unity and peace to
make sure that everyone is adhering and cooperating. They can easily adapt to their
learning environment.
Domain 3. Diversity of Learners
Education is very influential for it takes path to discover and to learn , it shape and
mold every person as they have to be . It can also change our perspectives and on viewing
the things around us . Education was the best shield and the effective key to open the door
for meaningful opportunities , A man with a wisdom and knowledge is what brings him
into success. Learners have their own abilities and capablities, they have their strengths
and weaknesses and amidst of all these , they should be equally treated and a teacher
should know how to deal of these differences.
No child should be left behind , every student have an equal opportunity to learn and
to be provided with the quality of education. Students are given opportunities to engage
themselves in studying and to learn efficiently and effectively. Education is not for just
one person but for everyone who are desperate to learn despite of individual differences.
Domain 4. Curriculum and Planning
Setting goals and objectives is a foundation for an effective teaching and learning.
It is somehow related to a business planning, you have to come up first with steps and an
effective plan for you to attain your goals and objectives at the end and will not fall into
mistakes. To build strong outcomes, organize first and do an outline of every small ways
that will be used in teaching. Defining the objectives will allow to determine the purpose
and what to be need to focus on. Equipped with clearer understanding about the context of
the curriculum will be a great help to prepare, save and share with other schools.
Studies of curriculum and its changes are thus important to reveal the expectations,
processes and outcomes of students’ school learning experiences that are situated in
different cultural and system contexts. Going beyond the selected education systems,
further studies of curriculum practices and changes are much needed to help ensure the
success of educational reforms in the different cultural and system contexts. It is used to
make teaching more effective and meaningful . This will contribute and push in to strive
for educational success and ensure quality of education for the learners.
In addition , Educators and curriculum developers, must work to ensure the effective
implementation of new curricular reforms and innovations to achieve better outcomes at
school.
Domain 5. Assessment and Reporting
Assessment in Education provides an evidence and basis on how the learners
perform and improve inside the classroom. To monitor and determine their strengths and
weaknesses as well as on what certain areas they are lackings or having
difficulties.Through this, the teacher will have the knowledge and will come up with
solutions that are reflected on the aim of the curriculum.
It is very important to assess the performance of the learners in order to improve and
come up with effective strategies for their learnin, you have to monitor their progress and
how far and effective they are learning at school. It is not just merely focusing on
absorbing knowledge where in fact they have to apply those learnings by doing. It
contributes a lot for their growth and development as an individual, it boost their
confidence to work on with their skills .They were given a lot of oppportunities since they
engage themselves more on working activities and it was a challenge for them to deal with
. Because of this assessment,they work on with their experiences and learn for
improvements.They enhance their skills, learned to collaborate with other people and
catching up with learnings at school. Through assessment, they have a better
understanding and gain deeper knowledge prior with learning competencies.
On the other hand, reporting focuses not just on how the student done in the past but
on the next steps for further learning. It is important to give feedbacks and to inform with
the guidance of the guardian or parents for them to be aware of the progress and
development of their children. It is also important for the learners to be aware and have
their access on their performance, they are able to monitor their own progress.
Domain 6. Community Linkages and Professional Engagement
In education, there is a school community partnership that responds to the
opportunities that link teaching and learning in the classroom for better outcomes and
promote quality education for all. There is called a establishment of learning
environments that are responsive to community context. Engagement and involvement of
parents and the wider school community in the educative process . To ensure that the
learners effectively learn at school and to support and sustain of their educational needs.
Strengthening the links between schools and community that strives for meaningful
classroom activities and linked to the experiences and aspirations of the studentes in their
homes and communities.
In the context of professional engagement, one of the roles of a teacher is to embrace
professionalism at all times. They are expected to fulfill their duties and obligations as
stated in the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers-the way they communicated and
interact with the learners and to the community must be ethical.
Domain 7. Personal Growth and Professional Development
I have observed throughout the internship that the learners are respectful, honest,
initiative ,friendly ,and obedient. They are responsible enough in the process of learning,
they are open with their teachers about the things they are eagerly to share and talk about.
An efficient teacher should maintain his/her personal growth that develops the
communication and social skills, including the aspects of emotional well being. The state
of a teacher affects its students as the role model of the class. To take the lead, to have
positive outlook and observe values and morals at all costs. These includes health and
fitness, motivation, self confidence , communication and well being. All of these affects
the teaching and learning process so it must always be observed. A teacher need to enforce
positive discipline in a right way so learners can develop and mold their positive behavior
towards themselves and towards others. Disciplining children is both a challenge and a
sacrifice as a teacher for they have to deal with variety of personalities inside the
classroom. They should be directing and leading them so they will encompass the good
manners and right behavior they should possess.
On the other hand, Professional development talks about and focuses on acquiring the
knowledge and skills that can improve the efficiency at work of being a teacher . Having
the wisdom and knowledge inside the classroom , how to handle and manage the class and
the creative skills of a teacher to be applied inside the classroom in order to have a well
organized classs and an effective teaching and learning takes place.
This two should always collab , to assess the skills and qualities, considering the
aims in life and set goals in order to realise and maximise the potential. Investing in
personal and professional development allows to be proactive in bringing goals to life,
giving sense of self-awareness and direction.
