Advantages and disadvantages of study online

*ADVANTAGES OF STUDY ONLINE
 Save your time and your money
- Compared to the traditional training method, you can see that cost is also one of
the issues that make many people choose to study online. Most online programs
will cost less than traditional learning options. Besides, you also save on travel
costs or fuel costs.
- Parents do not waste time moving and picking up their children, so they can use
these times to do another thing.
 Convenience for teachers and students
- As long as you have a computer with an internet connection, you can study from
the comfort of your home. Students can discuss without having to be in the same
room.
- One of the benefits of online learning is convenience. Instead of having to look for
a place to study and teach, you can do it right at home.
- The teacher can record the lesson that day and review it if necessary. Students can
review the lecture at any time.
 Make the lesson not boring
- In order for the lessons not to be too boring, teachers always need to be flexible in
their lectures. With online learning, teachers can invite guests into the classroom to
share views and experiences. The guests only need to spend a small amount of
time to join the study group without having to spend an entire day going to class.
- Lesson content is shown vividly and visually by other factors such as video,
images, sound,…
 Flexible location, teaching and learning time.
- Teachers and students can fully interact on tablets or laptops. At the same time,
your study location can be anywhere and at any time.
- Students can study online anytime they want, can study with anyone, flexible in
choosing a schedule, etc. If you are already working, online courses are extremely
convenient when gives you the flexibility to balance time for work, family, friends,
important people or any other activities you enjoy. Online learning is especially
suitable for busy people.
 Students can be more active in learning
- With the traditional learning method, you need to have a timetable for studying.
This sometimes causes inconvenience, especially for those who study and work to
earn extra income. Therefore, choosing to study online is one of the ideal and best
choices.
- Through the internet, the learning process will become easier. We can all study
anytime, anywhere, taking advantage of our free time to study. Some people even
combine work time and study time. This will help get better results in learning.
*DISADVANTAGES OF STUDY ONLINE
 Contact with many electronic devices
- Study online requires the learner sitting in front of the equipment all day and it can
affect to your health, especially with eyes and backs.
- The best solution to this problem is that after online lessons, students should have
enough time to rest, away from all electronic devices when not needed.
 Communication, teamwork and pairwork are limited
- When studying online, the time for students to talk and exchange in groups will be
reduced. Children may have reduced ability to communicate and work in groups.
This leads to many students who will lose soft skills after graduation, affecting the
quality of jobs later.
- I think teachers need to organize group work activities and encourage students to
exchange during class.
- Students do not interact directly with teachers and peers, which affects the
experience of the students. Additionally, online learning is limited in terms of
space, so it is more difficult to practice.
- Does not promote creativity and initiative of students because students don't have a
chance to practice much.
 Students may be distracted during class time
- Why I say so? Because during class time, students can open many other tabs such
as games, movies, chats, music,... so they don’t pay attention to the lesson and it
can affect to the result of the school achievement.
- Space: this is also a problem because it is difficult to have a quiet space when
everyone is at home during the time of epidemic. Sometimes the music concerts
from the neighbors make you lose our mind.
- In addition, the school's academic website often has network errors or crashes due
to the transmission is not stable.
 Students often do not copy or complete assignments when learning online.
- Teachers often cannot check students' notebooks when learning online because
they do not meet students directly, but can only interact via screens.
- Instead, teachers can check students' notebooks by asking students to reread the
passage they just copied, it is also a good idea to take a photo of the work and send
it to the teacher, but it will take a lot of time.
- Parents do not have enough time and knowledge to accompany their children
through online classes.
 The thing that worries me the most about face-to-face learning is cheating in the
online exam.
- Some students will take advantage of the number of times they exit the page that
the teacher has installed in some situations where the line is off to cheat in the
exam.
- It’s difficult to control student cheating the exam because the teachers may not be
able to observe all students's activities during test time because students can use
other devices to find answers or have helper do the test.
