Yes, Sir, our activity is that we listen to different
conversation and somehow our topic is about
listening.
Can you consider the activity as part of the macro

activity? And how?
Yes Sir. We have listened to different
conversation sir, so I think it about listening skill
sir.
Alright you have pointed out our topic today.
Now, may I ask you; how do you define listening?
All right! That’s right.
Now why is it important to develop listening
skill?
Alright so we have here the different types of
Listening skill.
Listening skills are skills that contribute to your
ability to accurately receive information when
communicating with others. These skills are an
important part of effective communication in the
workplace.
Developing good listening habits can help to
ensure you understand the information correctly,
interpret messages accurately and optimize your
conversations and communications for efficiency.
First is the Deep Listening, what comes in your
mind we say deep listening?
That’s, right.
Deep listening occurs when you're truly
committed to understanding the speaker's
perspective and message.
Deep listening includes paying attention to verbal
and non-verbal cues in order to gain a full
understanding of the speaker's experiences,
thoughts, feelings and objectives.
All right that’s a deep listening.
For example, during fights or arguments, many
people search for justifications and responses that
divert from the heart of the matter.
Now we have the Full listening.
How do you define full listening
Full listening includes trying to fully comprehend
the practical content of a speaker's message. This
type of listening often involves active listening
skills, like paraphrasing and asking clarifying
questions. Full listening can be particularly
helpful when interpreting directions, learning new
material, or developing new skills.
For example, Full listening is useful in the
classroom, when someone is instructing you on
how to complete a task, and when discussing
work projects with superiors.
We have also the Critical Listening
Critical listening involves using logic and
reasoning to separate opinion and fact when
listening to a speaker's message. Critical listening
usually involves using your previous knowledge
or experiences to identify factual content in
communication. Critical listening can be
especially important in professions that use
persuasive speaking, debating or investigatory
skills.
Example, agenda or goal, such as watching
political debates, or when a salesperson is
pitching a product or service.
Last is the Therapeutic Listening.
Therapeutic listening is a more intimate type of
listening that often involves receiving information
from a speaker about their challenges or
emotional situations. In the workplace, this type
of listening is often an important part of
succeeding in a career that deals with sensitive
topics or emotional discussions. Therapists,
doctors and counsellors often benefit from
developing their therapeutic listening abilities.
Example, such as nodding and maintaining eye
contact, in addition to empathizing with their
experiences.
GENERALIZATION
All right so we have done with the different types
of Listening skills, now let me revisit what you
have learned throughout the discussion.
Now, who can encapsulate the topics being
presented?
Amazing, is there any other answer?
The teacher will also ask the student what are the
importance of developing a listening skill.
That’s right.
APPLICATION:
Now, for the next activity, I will give you
something that will surely test your listening skill.
I will be showing you a video clip and after
wards you will be given a 30 seconds to give your
insight or ideas what the person wants to convey
or to tell.
