Question 10
The text I found most helpful in explain what it is like to meet someone for the first time is Text one.
-
I chose text one because text one is more of facts and texts two is fictional. Text one shows
human nature. It shows that people may not be who they seem to be at first sight.
Text one uses informal diction. Since the writer uses informal diction, it makes the text casual
and it makes it feels more natural. Unlike text one, text two is written in first person point of
view. This allows the reader to get the storyline from a character in the text.
One reason I didn’t chose text two is that it is fictional, meaning it doesn’t show exactly what it is
like to meet someone for the first time. The reactions of the children meeting Barack’s father for the
first time is too positive even most of the things Barack told them was a lie. This text doesn’t build
positive morals.
