LTE1196 RIM for WCDMA RAN3086 CSFB with RIM 06-Sep-2020 1 © 2016 Nokia Brief Introduction of LTE1196, RAN3086 and their parameters Brief Description: RAN3086: CSFB with RIM feature introduces RAN Information Management (RIM) signalling support for circuit-switched call fallback (CSFB). With the RIM procedure, LTE eNode B is able to retrieve 3G System Information (SI) from RNC. This improves the overall end-user experience by accelerating a voice call setup time. LTE1196: Feature introduces possibility to define “UTRA SI” RIM application to transfer up-to-date System Information of WCDMA neighbor cells from remote RNC to local eNB. After reception to eNB, they can be used to populate WCDMA System Information for redirection to WCDMA procedure. Below 1 sites considered for trial (on both 3G and LTE): Performance Summary: Trial implemented on 9-Nov on 1 sites. Feature is activated and working, RIM container is visible from L3 messages. Testing performed on 1 sites at same location during pre and post.
