be affected by the outcome) need and want to have less traffic in the hallways, more
efficient ways of moving, and more motivation for students to learn instead of physical
activity.

- teachers maneuvering around the halls

Yes because it is a problem that causes a lot of students to get to class late.

Students in DCL STEM academy
- What is the need here?
An escalator as well as a walking platform.
- What are the specific criteria/constraints required to solve the problem?
Criteria
● Should be visually appealing
● Should be handicap accessible
● Should be inclusive for all students
Constraints
● Must be safe for students and staff to use
● Must be more efficient then using the stairs and hallways
● Must be accessible for all
● Must have an immediate stop button in case of accidents or emergencies
- It is important to note and recognize a valid and invalid problem. A problem for YOU
can be justified and true but when working on a larger scale, it has to make sense for
the mass population that will be affected. Address the following:
**Clear justification of why the problem is worth solving
**Consider viewpoints of the problem
**Description of those who will benefit from solving the problem.

are crowded and this leads to students being
