Write Short Notes on the following.
a) Female batterers
Female batterers are women who engage in physically or emotionally abusive behavior towards their
partners. While the majority of domestic violence perpetrators are male, research has shown that
women can also be perpetrators of domestic violence. Female batterers may use physical violence,
emotional abuse, or a combination of both to control and dominate their partners. Factors that may
contribute to female battering include childhood abuse or trauma, mental health issues, substance
abuse, and learned behavior. It is important to recognize that domestic violence can happen to anyone
regardless of gender and that both men and women can be victims or perpetrators.
b) Child Abuse and Neglect
Child Abuse and Neglect:
Child abuse and neglect refer to the physical, emotional, or sexual mistreatment of a child, as well as
neglect or failure to provide for a child's basic needs. Child abuse and neglect can have long-lasting
effects on a child's physical and emotional well-being, and can even lead to death in severe cases. Signs
of child abuse and neglect can include physical injuries, changes in behavior or personality, and poor
hygiene or nutrition. Child abuse and neglect are serious issues that require prompt intervention and
protection of the child.
c) Interrogational tactics
Interrogational tactics refer to techniques used by law enforcement officers to obtain information from
suspects or witnesses during an investigation. Interrogational tactics can include tactics such as building
rapport, asking leading questions, using persuasive or manipulative techniques, and even using
deception. The use of certain tactics, such as coercion or physical force, is illegal and unethical. It is
important for law enforcement officers to use appropriate and ethical interrogational tactics to ensure
that the information obtained is reliable and admissible in court.
