It's a golden year for Jamaica.
The island home of Olympic track star Usain Bolt, who won three gold medals this summer in London, is
celebrating its 50th anniversary of independence from England.
This adds up to something the Caribbean music mecca does well: celebration.
A range of happenings tagged "Official Jamaica 50" events is part of the island's push to lure visitors and
returning Jamaicans.

 MISS JAMAICA FIFTY

Miss Jamaica Fifty were
requisite in all different
parishes. 5 participants were
selected from the different
parishes to partake in the Miss
Jamaica Fifty Event. The
competition consisted of 5
different rounds in total.

PARISH GALA
 Hanover,Kingston,Portland,St.Ann St.Catherine,St.Elizabeth
St.Mary ,St.Thomas &Westmoreland were the parishes that
held the annual parish gala hosted by Neville Bell and Usain
Bolt. All parishes showed their different talents by singing and
dancing to cultural songs to further promote Jamaica's rich
culture

parishes that organized a float
celebrating Jamaica's Unique
culture which include: Music, Art
and Our History
EXHIBITION
Clarendon,Kingston,Manchester,Portland,St.AndrewSt.Elizabeth,
Trelawny,Westmoreland arranged an exhibition to celebrate the
life of our national heroes and the artist that brought our culture
worldwide. A special tribute was made for Bob Marley by His
children, Ziggy Marley,Damian Marley and his Grandchild Skip
Marley they sang the song redemption songs which talks about
freedom, emancipation and freeing ourselves from mental slavery
EVENING OF EXCELLENCE
Clarendon,Hanover,Manchester,Portland,St.Andrew,
St.Elizabeth,St.James,St.Mary,St.Thomas were the
parishes abetted to the people who made excellent
contributions to Jamaica's economy.They were awarded
for their marvelous achievements and efforts. Miss
Maukenie Ling won most of the awards for being the
first Jamaican woman to open a children's hospital in
Hanover
