Simpson's, an American former football player and actor is accused of the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. Their murders and the subsequent arrest of O.J Simpson ignited a series of events that America's legal system and media had never seen before II. Chronological timeline: June 12, 1994: Nicole Simpson Brown and Ron Goldman are murdered 6:30 pm: After attending her daughter's dance recital, Brown has dinner with friends and family at the Brentwood restaurant Mezzaluna, where Goldman works as a waiter. 8 p.m. - Nicole Brown Simpson and her children leave Mezzaluna, and stop for ice cream on the way home. 9:15 p.m. - One of Nicole Brown Simpson's sisters calls Mezzaluna to say that Nicole's mother had left her glasses at the restaurant. Ronald Goldman volunteers to return the glasses. 9 p.m.-9:30 p.m. - Brian Kaelin, a friend staying in a guest house at O.J. Simpson's home, and Simpson go to McDonald's for dinner. 9:45 p.m. - Kaelin and Simpson return home. 9:48 p.m. - 9:50 p.m. - Goldman leaves the restaurant with a white envelope containing the glasses. 10:15 p.m. - While watching television, Pablo Fenjves, a neighbor of Nicole Brown Simpson, hears the cries and constant barking of a dog. 10:25 p.m. - Limousine driver Allan Park arrives at Simpson's home. 10:41 pm-10:45 pm: Brian Kaelin hears a thumping noise on the opposite side of his wall and goes outside to investigate. 10:50 pm-10:55 pm: A neighbor spots Brown's white dog by itself — barking with bloody paws. Shortly before 11 p.m. – Driver Allan Park sees a black person, six-feet, 200 pounds, walking across the driveway towards the house. 11:01 pm: Allan Park sees Simpson exit his house. A few minutes later, Park drives Simpson to the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for his flight to Chicago. 11:45 pm: Simpson takes off to Chicago where he was supposed to take part in a golf competition. June 13, 1994: O.J Simpson becomes a suspect 12:10 am: Brown's dog leads neighbors to the dead bodies of Goldman and Brown, which lie near the gate. Brown’s throat is slashed so deeply, she is almost decapitated. 4:15 am: Simpson checks into a hotel in Chicago. 4:30 am: Police arrive at Simpson's Rockingham mansion to inform him of Brown's death but instead discover his blood-stained Bronco car and a bloody glove that matches one found near Goldman's body. 10:45 am: With a search warrant in hand, the police search Simpson's mansion and find even more blood traces on the property, including in his Bronco. 12 pm: Returning to Los Angeles after being informed of Brown's death, Simpson arrives at his mansion where he is handcuffed and then taken to the police station where he's questioned for hours. III. Factual elements: 1985: Nicole Brown and OJ Simpson marry and have 2 children. 1992: Nicole files the divorce paper because she was a victim of domestic violence. DNA evidence has been linked to OJ Simpson. OJ is charged with two counts of murder. He escapes in a white Ford Bronco. A low-speed chase takes place and is watched by millions of Americans, interrupting the NBA finals. IV. Witnesses: Nicole’s sister, Denise Brown, testifies that O.J had been abusive to Nicole when they were married. Nicole’s neighbor testifies that he heard the sound of a dog “plaintive wail” from near their home at 10:15pm. Prosecution estimates it as the time of the killings. Mark Fuhrman, detective in Los Angeles testifies that he found bloody gloves at OJ’s estate. OJ Simpson himself puts them on inside the court room and declares them “too tight”. During the investigation, excerpts of recorded interviews between Fuhrman and screenwriter Laura Hart McKinny were played with jury absent. In calm, casual tone, Fuhrman uses the word “niger” 41 times. Allan Park testifies that OJ Simpson didn’t answer the door on the night of the murders until 11pm. Henry Lee, forensics expert, testifies to finding three shoe prints at crime scene that didn’t match OJ’s shoes and says police mishandled evidence. Brian Kaelin testifies that he last saw OJ Simpson at 9:35pm that night.
