“HR Meet 2023: The Confluence of Industries” was successfully organised by Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Management Studies on 11th February 2023. The dignitaries and experts from the HR fraternity from different industries and organisations participated in this event. The chief guest was Mr. Rajesh Kumar Singh (Global HR Head, KPIT) talked about the massive business changes and their relevance towards the business development and competencies required in the industry. The guest of honour Mrs. Rohini Wagh (Vice President, Nitor Infotech), reiterated the unlearning, learning and relearning required to sustain and perform to succeed in the corporate world. She also highlighted that managing change involves acceptance, assimilation and adaptation approaches. Furthermore, Mr. Pradip Tupe (Vice President, PMA) has highlighted the current business needs and role of industry institute interaction towards national development. He also shared the vision of the pune management association to support the industry and academia. Then, Dr. Bharat Chavan Patil (MD Operations, DYPIMS) stressed on the facets of Indian education system and its relevance towards various elements for the upliftment of the economy and development of the nation. Dr. Kuldip Charak (Director, DYPIMS) emphasised the significance of collaboration of industry and academia towards economic development and provided the multidisciplinary approach and skill-based teaching-learning model to support each other. The event was further led by a panel discussion on Human Resource Management in the Post-Covid Era to explore different problems and challenges for industry and academia. Dr. Avinash Pawar (Associate Professor, DYPIMS) moderated the panel discussion, and panel members were Mr. Sudhir Mateti (Head HR, Syntel Telecom), Mr. Bharat Rahane (VP HR and Finance, MGS Technology), Ms. Sheetal Jagtap (Sr. HR Manager, Tata Motors), and Capt. Raman Raina (Director HR, Honeywell International India Pvt. Ltd.). The panel discussion helped to understand several dimensions of skilling, reskilling, technological upgradation and bridging the industry-academia gap effectively. The program was closed with a vote of thanks by Dr. Neetu Udgirkar to all the participants, guests and speakers.
