Mechatronic Engineering Students Signals and Systems The Main Engineering Subject Sudan International University Signals and System (S&S) ELE3107 Introduction to Class Lecture #01 Instructor: Dr. Emtithal Ahmed Doctor of Engineering Email: eng_emtithal@yahoo.co.jp 12/02/2023 Copyright by: Dr. Emtithal 1 Course Description Ø Signals and Systems is an important branch of Electronics and Telecommunication engineering that deals with the improvisation of reliability and accuracy of the analog and digital machine communication by employing multiple techniques. This course explains the basic concepts of digital signal processing in a simple and easy-to-understand manner. Ø Signals and systems deals with the signal phenomenon. Along with it, in this course, we have shown the filter design using the concept of the subjects. This course has a good balance between theory and mathematical rigor. Before proceeding with this course, the students are expected to have a basic understanding of systems mathematical structures. 12/02/2023 2 Goals and Learning Objectives Ø Designed for undergraduate engineering students who will become end users of system and signals processing for any engineering applications such as; Electronic, Mechatronic or Biomedical. The effective use of advanced tools is emphasized in this course. Ø An overview of the fundamentals of the most important signals and systems modalities in use is included to provide a context, and to illustrate how the signals are produced and analyzed. Ø Through using this text, students will understand why they are undertaking particular operations, and practical mathematicalbased activities will enable them to see the proof of how 12/02/2023 3 operations affect real signals.
