The main purpose of educating children is to teach them about how the world works. It would
be beneficial if schools remove subjects like art and music from timetable. Instead, students
should allocate more time on subjects that benefit the them the most including information
technology. I totally agree with this due to some factor that will be given in the upcoming
paragraphs.
On the one hand, having Art and Music class on the curriculum is of a great importance for
children. It is believed that these subjects can teach the notion of beauty to not only young
minds but also any people regardless of their age. To be more specific, there is a claim in
Psychology that says students are likely to be productive and persistent in what they do when
they listen to music or draw some pictures to entertain themselves before diving into
homework and study. On top of that, people at a young age, especially teenagers are most
vulnerable to depression when they have to perform under great pressure. To prevent that from
happening, schools must consider these factors to have best and brightest students and show
good results in the end.
On the other hand, nowadays the world revolves around technology advancements,
specifically computer sciences more than it does with Art or Music. Therefore, it is a good
idea to make reductions in the timetable by cutting Art subjects and paying more attention into
on-demand knowledge. Moreover, in a world full of gadgets where computer get the most of
the work done, students should be encouraged to learn how to deal with such technologies
when needed. Additionally, this can be a great foundation for those who want to become a
competent and highly-qualified worker at big offices later in their life.
In conclusion, even though Art and Music still have value in education in a moral and
psychological way, schools should make more time for modern subjects like IT. That way,
children can have a better future with excellent soft skill that will be needed later in their
career.
