TV SHOW PITCH TEMPLATE This template is intended to assist you with pitching your TV show to potential network partners and distributors. SHOW TITLE: This is where you’d enter the name of your TV show. E.g. Safari Jack and the Creature Companions CREATOR: Enter the name of the creator of the show right here. E.g. Michael Michaelson BACKGROUND & KEY CREDITS: This is where you can really sell yourself to your potential partners. Be sure to include and major achievements and background on your team. E.g. Michaelson started out making short films at XYZ Film Academy. His Short “Spaghetti Sauce” won numerous audience awards. From there he began his career as a freelance creative producer. Credits include feature film “Time Stop”, Web series “Doctor Diego”. He was a co-producer and writer on “Wilson’s Days” for Cartoon Network. KEY COLLABORATOR: Include one of your key collaborators in this section. E.g. Richard Stults. Stults’ is the lead animator on “The Wichitaw Wonderfuls” for Adult Swim. He’s been an animator for 5+ years. FORMAT: Simply describe what the format of your show would be, in a few sentences. E.g. Half-hour morning animated kids show LOGLINE: Now it’s time to flesh out your pitch! If you need help with your logline, take a look at our article on crafting the perfect logline. E.g. Safari Jack is exploring the outback when he befriends a talking Lion who teaches him about the secret life of animals SYNOPSIS: In this section you’ll go into a little more detail. Your logline has to tease interest, the synopsis gives us the brief summary of where the series will go, and what the show’s foundation is. E.g. Safari Jack learns all about animals from the animals themselves, things he never knew before. The animals dance and sing, talk about their feelings and learn many life lessons along the way. Kids will learn about the animals they love, but also about themselves and growing up EPISODE BREAKDOWNS: This is where you can provide a break-out of a handful or more of your best episode ideas. It demonstrates that you’ve got long-term planning for the show’s success, and that the well of ideas won’t ever run dry. E.g. The pilot will show how Safari Jack found the animals, and becomes their friend. Episode 2 will be about how Henry the Hippo lost his favorite toy, while the others learn to count to ten. Episode 3 will focus on the alphabet while introducing Lowell the Lion’s parents and rules he’s having a hard time following.
