Dog's COLORFUL DAY By:Emma Dodd Curl up with your child, get ready to listen and read along with the story. We hope you enjoy our weekly story time and most of all...we hope you have fun! Starting Up: Ask your child: What do you think will happen to the dog? Take a look at the bone. What colors can your child point out? Reading the Story: As the dog is going through the book, ask your child what color are the spots? Are they large or small spots? Throughout the book take time to stop on each page and point to the number of spots. Try having your child count out loud. After the Story: Ask questions: If you were a dog what color would your spots be? What items would your spots come from? How many spots would you want as a dog? Can you count them out loud? Activities at Home or On the Go: Coffee Filter Art Grab markers, coffee filters, and water. Color a beautiful design on the filter and dab with water. Watch it expand and see what happens! Color Hunt Take a walk outside or around your house and find colors that were discussed in the book. Color Sorting Can you sort colors? Find items around the house such as crayons or stuffed animals and sort by colors. Can you count them as you sort?
