Safety
1.1 Introduction
The Farley Laserlab GF3015PLUS has been designed exclusively for the purpose of
cutting, piercing and welding. Using the machine for any purpose other than those
mentioned above or operating it in a manner outside the guidelines specified in this
manual or by the safety standards of your country is considered contrary to its
designated use. Farley Laserlab or its suppliers cannot be held liable for any damage
resulting from such use.
1.2 Laser Source
Lasers are sources of light which differ from all other sources of light in both
the mechanism of operation and in quality of the light produced. Lasers emit light
either continuously (continuous wave laser) or in pulses. This light is generally
an almost monochromatic (single wavelength) narrow beam (i.e. well collimated) and
high power density (irradiance) often many times brighter than the sun. There are
many different types of lasers, each type with its own characteristic wavelengths.
Laser wavelengths range from the ultraviolet, through the visible to the far infrared
regions of the spectrum. Farley Laserlab uses laser in the infrared region of the
spectrum, with a wavelength of 10.6µm.
1.3 Laser Radiation Calculations
The reference policy statement discusses the requirements applicable to user
instructions and installations of high power laser systems. The policy requires that
the geographic boundaries in which the Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) limits
from the standards are exceeded during operation. It also requires that any operating
controls not be within this area unless they are shielded so as to preclude any
exposure to the operator, which exceeds the MPE.
In addition to physical enclosures and shields, it may be possible to use the part
and tooling to block the beam paths. Suitable interlocks would likely be required
to ensure that the part is in place prior to allowing any emitted radiation, and
any radiation passing through or reflected off the part need be accounted for. The
following calculations define the MPE and Nominal Ocular Hazard Distance (NOHD),
representing the range at which under ideal conditions the irradiance or radiant
exposure falls below the appropriate MPE, and the required Optical Densities (OD)
for laser safety glasses.
These calculations have been performed in accordance to EN 60825 and ANSI 136.1.
The physical symbols and units have been adopted from the EN standard

MPE=1000W/m2(CW)
MPE=5600*t0.25J/m2 (For single pulse at 700μs) and when Q=4.1J, the MPE=911J/m2
MPEtrain=MPEsingle*N-1/4
All hazardous conditions (except for the condition in diffuse radiation calculations
(b)) can be expected any time for an exposure of not more than 10 seconds. The case
specified in Diffuse radiation calculations (b) can be expected continuously during
an eight hour shift. Safety glasses of a minimum of OD8 are suggested by Laserlab
for operating personnel and spectators during normal operation and maintenance.
Refer to safety section in the laser manufacturer’s manual for ultraviolet radiation
hazards.
1.4 Hazards to Sight
1.4.1 Retina
Lasers that produce light in the visible and near infrared regions of the spectrum
can be particularly hazardous to sight. This is because the eye will focus the laser
beam on to the retina and a retinal burn may result in much the same way as a magnifying
glass using the sun's rays can burn a hole in paper. The power density of the laser
beam image formed on the retina is typically as 100,000 times as the power density
of the laser beam at the cornea. A retinal burn or lesion may result in serious and
permanent impairment of vision or even blindness in the eye affected. The exposure
time required to produce a serious lesion depends on numerous factors, but for many
lasers, exposure times of a fraction of a second can produce a lesion. For such lasers,
the blink reflex cannot therefore be relied upon to provide protection.
The wavelength produced by the Laser incorporated in the Farley Laserlab’s system
is not capable of being focused by the cornea, however serious burns may happen if
the eye is exposed to direct or reflected radiation. To prevent injury of the eye,
safety goggles must be worn by the machine operator and any observers at all times.
1.4.2 Cornea & Lens
High power infrared lasers can also injure the cornea and are therefore also a hazard
to sight. Infrared radiation may be absorbed and heat maybe generated in the interior
of the eye. This may result in damage to the cornea and lens, and could be latent
in the early stages. The heat generated may lead to the formation of cataracts. This
hazard can exist even if the light is of such low intensity as not to be noticed,
for example, CW lasers operating in the red or infrared regions, particularly with
carbon dioxide/nitrogen lasers operating at 10.6µm. Ultraviolet radiations are
mainly absorbed by the cornea. This causes ionization that leads to nucleus
deterioration.
Exposure to ultraviolet can cause spasm in the ciliary muscle of the eye within 24
hour. Cornea damage caused by exposure to ultraviolet will create symptoms that are

noticeable within 24 hour, whereas the lens damage caused by exposure to infrared
may create immediate symptoms and the effects may be visible.
1.5 Skin Hazard
In general terms, the skin can withstand a great deal more exposure to a laser beam
than the eye. But it also depends on the wavelength of radiation. The greatest hazard
comes from zones that border the visible light region, i.e. the infrared and near
ultraviolet. Infrared radiation can cause acute skin burns, scarring, changes in
pigmentation, and if the laser is very powerful, it may also damage underlying
organs.
1.6 Fire Hazard
Laser cutting is a thermal process and as such presents a fire risk. In the presence
of oxygen, used as an assist gas, this danger is increased. It is mandatory that
a suitable fire extinguisher is located as near as possible to the machine tool in
an unobstructed location.
1.7 Mechanical Hazard
Although the cutting area of GF3015PLUS is fully enclosed, due to the fact that
transfer table is of open design and high positioning speed (Up to 100m/min), it
is possible that serious injury may occur. Injury may occur from:
Being trapped between the bed and the cutting table
Limbs being caught by the supporting pins of work table or cutting material or the
cutting head
Fingers /hands being caught by the X-axis cables or safety doors or the electrical
cabinet.
Warning!
There should never be anybody within the light barrier/safety mats while the machine
is moving at maximum speed.
Protective measures must be taken when performing maintenance on the machine, the
front door must be kept open when carrying out the maintenance under the machine
gantry. In addition to increased risk of burn injury by laser beam, injuries may also
occur from:
Hands/fingers may be pinched by rack/pinion on X-axis/Y-axis
Being scratched by Z-box and machine beam on Y-axis
Being caught by ball-screw on Z-axis
Warning!
When carrying out maintenance on the machine, maintenance personnel must ensure that

their hair or clothing is not loose, otherwise, they may be caught in the machine.
1.8 Electrical Hazard
There are high voltages present within the machine. During maintenance on the machine,
special care needs to be exercised when working close to cables and inside electrical
cabinet.
Warning!
High voltages can be still present in the electrical cabinet up to 4 minutes after
the power has been turned off to the machine from the main switch.
1.9 Other Hazard
Other hazards that may be encountered with the use of a laser machine are as follows:
Vaporized materials, such as asbestos, carbon dioxide, lead, mercury and certain
other metals may cause atmospheric contamination.
Splash generated in process of laser cutting, piercing and welding.
Laser chemical reaction or gas explosion.
Plasma radiation.
Personal injury from direct or indirect exposure (reflection) to laser beam
High temperature surfaces generated by the cutting process (cutting piece/material
and nozzle).
Dust and fragments from broken lens.
1.10 Safety of Operator
Operator safety is the responsibility of the employer and the employee alike. The
following actions and precautions are extracts from the Standards Association of
Australia AS 2211 and should be observed within and applicable to other countries.
The operator should have his/her eyes checked in accordance with Appendix D of AS
2211 and conduct a health check in accordance with Appendix D of AS 2211.
Note: The above list is supplied as a sample list only. If you suspect that you have
suffered laser radiation or you have operated laser equipments for a year(12
month),you are suggested to conduct an in-depth health check in accordance
with clause a and clause b. The Standards Association or other governing bodies
involved with the use and regulating of Lasers within your country should be
contacted to understand the various requirements you will need to comply with
as a Laser user. In addition, other points to consider for the safety of
operators are:
The operator and any maintenance personnel performing work on the laser or beam

delivery system must be supplied with laser safety goggles that have a minimum rating
of OD8 for a wavelength of 10.6µm. This will protect against laser radiation and
flying particles from the target area.
Gloves should be supplied to the operator to protect the hands from cuts and burns
that may occur due to handling material on the work table.
Strong footwear such as steel cap boots should be provided for the operator as
injuries may occur from dropping heavy material.
To protect the remainder of the body, the operator should wear either a dust coat
or overalls of good quality cotton fabric.
Ear Protection should be worn when using the machine for high pressure cutting.
(Refer to section 1.13 Safety Noise level indications for noise levels generated
by the machine)
In addition to the points above, practices and equipment for good workpiece handling
should be employed. Points to consider are:
A heavy material lifting aid, such as a forklift or overhead crane.
Safety goggles, gloves and adequate footwear and clothing.
Fume extraction system.
Adequate space around the machine for operation and maintenance work.
Ensuring material is near the edge of the work table and easily accessible to the
operator.
Weight belts to protect against back injuries.
Adequate lighting needs to be provided so that operators and maintenance personnel
can see clearly around all of the machine and cutting table. There is no provision
for lighting in the electrical cabinet. Only qualified service personnel should work
in the cabinet.
1.11 Machining and Area Labeling
Labels on the Farley Laserlab’s cutting machine indicates the laser medium, the
practical upper power limit, the classification of the type of laser used with the
motion system, and warnings indicating the location of the beam path in the machine.
More detailed information please refers to 1.1.4 the labels position map and labels
instruction. Area warning signs conforming to the appropriate safety standards of
the country, where the machine is installed need to be placed in prominent positions
at entrances to the laser cutting area.
1.12 Hazardous Materials

Before processing any new materials by the laser cutting machine, material data
sheets from the manufacturer or supplier should be obtained to determine what, if
any, hazardous by-products maybe produced during the cutting process, and what
safety measures need to be carried out to ensure the safety of the operator and any
other persons in the vicinity of the cutting area.
1.12.2 Hazards
Before processing any material, please ascertain whether there could be a danger
of light reflection, other radiation or offensive/dangerous fumes or gases produced
from the laser process. As an indication to what may be expected the following list is
given as a guide.
1.12.3 Mirror Finish Materials
During processing, any cutting or twisting of material may reflect the laser beam
in any direction.
1.12.4 Zinc Coated or Galvanized Metal
Following problems may occur in processing such materials: such materials may
produce zinc oxide, inhalation of large amount of zinc oxide will cause burning
injury.
1.12.5 Stainless Steel
During the processing of stainless steel, Chromium oxide may be produced, which is
irritant and corrosive to the skin. It is also possibly carcinogenic.
1.12.6 Others (coatings on various materials, oils)
When obtaining material from a manufacturer, it should be noted whether any coating
is on the material. Plastic coatings may produce hazardous fumes, and paper coats
on plastics may burn. Since oil is often used as a temporary protective coating on
steel, hazardous fumes may be given off.

GF3015PLUS Main Construction
3.1 Bed
Bed includes bed body, linear rails, racks, transmission device, guiding device and
dust collector system etc.
Bed body, the load-bearing part of the whole machine tool, consists of plate, square
steel and the shaped parts being welded together from the hollow steel pipe.
3.2 Machine Beam
The whole body of machine beam is reinforced structure, which is equipped with
sliders and gear box both at its left and right end. The output shaft of gear motor
is equipped with pinions. The machine beam is connected with the bed through its
linear rails on both sides to form a gantry structure. The machine is double driven
by the rack and pinion for the movement in X- direction.
GF3015PLUS laser cutting machine is using gantry type machine beam and dual-side
Rack & Pinion drive system. Compared with the cantilever design, it has the
advantages of higher stiffness, greater driving force and more stable running. The
positioning speed can be up to 100m/min and suitable for high-speed and high power
laser cutting.
3.3 Automatic Transfer Table
It adopts vertical lifting structure.
3.4 Z-box
The Z-box is combined with following parts:
Z-box base plate, Z-axis slide carriage, servo motor, and ball screw driven system.
One pair of linear rails installed on the base plate is coordinating with 4 sliders
on the slide carriage to guide the movement of Z-axis. The servo motors are driving
ball screws through coupler to produce a driving force on the nuts fixed on the slide
carriage, which will generate a relative up & down movement between the Z-axis slider
and Z-box base plate. The laser cutting head is installed on the Z-axis slide carriage
and its stroke being controlled by three proximity switches.
3.5 Monitor
It is easy to operate the 24" colour display monitor, which can display the programs

operational features include: start-up of parts, or the zoom of current step, panel
and position display.
3.6 Keyboard
With this common conventional computer keyboard, you can manually enter data quickly
and easily.
3.7 Operation Panel
Farley Laserlab specially designed the CNC controller, which has complete control
system for laser cutting and provides all necessary control functions;
It is very easy to master the functions of all control switches; mechanical switch
is covered by a polyester film, which is easy to clean. All the key functions are
displayed in the form of icon.
3.8 Gas and Electrical System
GF3015PLUS adopts Proportional control valve system to control the cutting gas
pressure, high-pressure nitrogen is controlled by high pressure proportional valve.
To match with the air compressor, Farley Laserlab has designed a Compressed Gas Unit
dedicated for laser application, meeting the demand of reliable air purification and
dehumidification 24 hours/day.
The quality of the gas supplied by the Gas Unit is according to ISO8573-1 with class
1 degrease, class 4 water removing and class 1 dust collecting ability. And the gas
flow is 800 L/min at pressure 7.5 Bar. The system can be free maintenance for 3000
hours with advantages of high reliability, good air quality ,low noise and cost-saving.
3.9 Optical Beam Delivery Design
The whole external optical beam delivery system mainly consists of fiber for the
laser beam transmission. The fiber support is strong. Since there is no reflecting
mirrors required, this external beam delivery system has advantages of good closure,
simple design and easy-maintenance.
3.10 Drive
One of the important factors to ensure high cutting quality is the use of high-power
servo drive system, which is working for the horizontal axis and longitudinal axis.
On the two axes, the drive is coordinating with effective rack & pinion integration
and the adjustable device to adjust the backlash.

3.11 Hoses and Cable Chain
All control cables and hoses are concentrated inside the cable chain, which ensures
that the loading weight on each carriage of cutting head is the same. Even if there
is a change in the loading weight on the cutting head, it will not affect the cutting
quality.
There is a similar cable chain on the longitudinal axis to optimize the cutting
quality.
3.12 Linear Rails
A smooth cutting edge is relying on the smooth movement of cutting head, which is
determined by the accuracy of linear rails of horizontal axis and longitudinal axis.
3.13 Electric Lifting Device
Cutting head’s lifting device is also driven by the servo motor, so that the operators
do not need to manually adjust the height of cutting head when cutting different
materials of different thickness. With this electric lifting device, the height of
cutting head can be quickly adjusted by control panel.
3.14 Local Indentation System
Before next piercing after the completion of last cutting process, it will save more
time by retracing the cutting head directly to the next processing work-piece
(adjusting the height of cutting head in advance) rather than returning the cutting
head directly to the machine origin. In this case, the gas is continuously cycling
between the piercing and cooling of work-piece, so as to maintain the consistency
of piercing and increase the service lifetime of the cutting head.
It allows the cutting head to maintain the working state and ensures the consistency
of the gas flow. It also avoids the re-start of cutting head.
3.15 Security Guards

4.1.2 Enable After Long Time Closed Down
4.1.2.1 Laser Source
After long time close-down or the first time to enable, the laser source needs to
be pre-ignited for a certain time. For more detailed information, please refer to
Laser Source Operation Manual.
4.1.2.2 Cooling System
In most cases, industrial cooling device has a compressor crankcase full of oil.
Before turning on the compressor, the oil needs to be heated and dehumidified.
Usually the crankcase heater heats oil, and gives out refrigerant. As long as the
refrigeration unit powered on, the heater is always on, even when its power switch
is turned off.
If the refrigeration unit's power supply is cut off, you have to wait at least 3 hours
before you turn on the cooler to heat the oil in the crankcase and release the
refrigerant. So we advise you to maintain the electric supply of the cooling
device. In this way, the heating of the heater can always be maintained; you do not
have to wait at start up.
For more details, please refer to the instruction manual provided together with the
cooling device.
Please note: Starting the cooler before it getting prepared may cause damage to it.
Only after the cooler running normally, then you can turn on the laser
source.

4.3 Preparation for Running
4.3.1 Loading On The Programs On CNC System
There are following methods to load on the programs to CNC system:
1. With DNC;
2. With U flash disk, for detailed information, please refer to 840D Operation
Manual;
3. With editor. You can input the program in editor and then save it to hard disk.
For detailed information, please refer to related chapter in 840D Operation Manual.
4.3.2 Select the Program
Please refer to related chapter in 840D Operation Manual.
4.3.3 Laser Source Power Setting
The laser source power can be controlled by the rotary knob on the front control
panel. This rotary knob is marked with laser power scale .When the knob is rotated
to the max., the laser output power will be the max. This can be changed through
the power variables; you can modify the program to do it. Power level at maximum
position can be displayed in the System Status interface.
4.3.4 Assist Gas and Assist Gas Pressure Setting
For processing different materials, we need to choose proper assist gas. The
selection of assist gas can be done through the assist gas button on the front control
panel .Generally speaking, O2 is used as assist gas for cutting Mild Steel, Aluminum;
N2 is used as assist gas for cutting Stainless Steel; Air is used as assist gas for
cutting non-metal material. If special gas or high pressure cutting process is needed,
you can choose it in F6 mode or M mode. Gases interlock function is advised to choose.
When the gases pressure is lower than setting, the interlock function can be used
to prevent the decline in cutting quality or the damage to the focusing lens.
4.3.5 Laser Source Shutter
If you want to output the laser, first you need to open the laser source shutter
(fiber selection signal). You can open it by pressing the “Shutter Open” button
on the front control panel, and you can also open it with M code or MDI (Manual Data
Input). For safety, if not cutting, the shutter should be closed. We advise that
there is a “shutter open” command at the beginning of each program, and there is
a “shutter close” command at the end of each program.

4.3.6 Focal Height Adjusting
Height adjustment of focusing mirror is allowed, for detailed information; please
refer to the instruction manual of cutting head.
4.3.7 Nozzle Selection
Different nozzles provided together with laser cutting head are specially designed
for different cutting situations. It can let gases and laser beam through it to be
coaxial. The coaxial system can protect the mirrors from spatters and smoke. The
nozzles should be always checked and cleaned to make sure:
1. The nozzle size is right;
2. The nozzle is complete and cleaned without notch and spatter;
If the shape of the nozzle is not regular, the gas flow will be affected. Generally
speaking, the size of the tip of the nozzle to be chosen is 1.5mm and 2.0mm.
4.3.8 Nozzle Adjustment
After the right nozzle is selected, we need to make sure the laser beam is at the
center of the nozzle when through it. Otherwise, the cutting quality will be
decreased.
Before adjusting, we should make sure:
1. The distance between the nozzle and work-piece surface is 2.0mm;
2. The focus is matched with the above mentioned distance;
Adjusting method:
1. Attaching the adhesive tape to the nozzle; 2.pierecing a hole on the tape with
laser power 100W for 0.2 second; 3.Adjusting the nozzle by a 3mm hex wrench according
to the position of the hole, Please refer to the instruction manual of cutting head for
the adjustment direction.
Please note: The laser beam is invisible to the human eyes, we must be careful not
to let any object being exposed directly to the laser beam.
4.3.9 Enabling Surface Following Mode
4.3.9.1 Introduction
The Surface Following Mode can be enabled with program or M40 code or pressing the
“Surface Following Mode” button on the front panel of the operation console.M40
can easily change the control state to be the state of being ready for receiving some
variation compensation.

Cutting commend M15, when active alone, it’s used for active the assist gas; but
when under the “Surface Following Mode”, it will drive the laser cutting head down
to the parts from its current position. When under the “Surface Following Mode”,
the CNC system will create a certain amount of offset distance to Z-axis, so that
when the machine is under Standby status, the cutting head can keep a right distance.
4.3.9.3 Detecting Range
The detecting range is limited in +/- Z-axis.
4.3.9.4 Focus Adjusting Rotating Knob
If the surface of the plates is within the detecting range, the cutting head will stay
at a position of certain distance from the surface of the plate, this distance can
be adjusted by the focus adjusting rotating knob on the front panel. Generally
speaking, the distance is about 2mm.
4.3.9.5 Retrace
On Height Following Mode, when Press “Retrace” button or execute M16 code, the
laser cutting head will retrace to the preset position.
4.3.10 Gas Pressure Setting
The cutting gas pressure is controlled by the CNC system. Before setting the pressure,
the controller of the pressure should be calibrated on automatic mode. Activate
program and press the Cycle Start button, the CNC system will calibrate the gas
pressure automatically.
4.4 Cutting Quality
Once the cutting process is under way, it will be necessary to optimize the cutting
results. Hereby we provide the novice user with some basic guidelines (for further
details see chapter 10 Principles of laser cutting). Judging the cutting quality
depends on operator’s experience, but the telltale signs will be quickly learned.
There are four major factors that will affect cutting quality and those factors are
adjustable during the cutting process, and it's quite normal to reset the parameters.
1. Use the CUTTING SPEED knob to adjust the actual cutting speed of the machine;
programmed feed rate values are typically approximate - the programmer's best guess.
Generally speaking, the optimum cutting speed depends on work piece thickness (for
a given material). For many materials, some variation in cutting speed is tolerable.
If the cutting speed is too fast, the cut will fail to penetrate cleanly through
the material (and cutting waste generated will splash upwardly instead of escaping
below the work piece), If the cutting speed is too slow, there may be excessive heat
input into the material, resulting in unacceptable heat affected zone adjacent to
the cut.

2. The focal-height potentiometer can precisely adjust the distance between the
cutting nozzle (and lens) and the surface of work piece. In most applications, the
focal point of the beam should lie just below the nozzle tip, and should impinge
on or just under the surface of work-piece. Typically the tip will be about 1.5 mm
above the work piece. The most optimum position of focus shall vary a little with
the thermal effects of the lens, and the optimum position of focus also depends on
properties of the material (eg. its reflectivity to the laser); hence you can expect
to make minor adjustments to this setting from time to time. After optimization of
the focal height, the cutting kerf will be minimal and the efficiency will be
maximized, allowing best possible cutting speeds consistent with good results.
3. The pressure level of assist gas has a significant effect on the cutting result.
Generally speaking, the pressure must be sufficient enough to completely clear away
the cutting waste generated from cutting process, and the pressure needs to be
reduced for cutting thicker work pieces. Hot cutting waste adhering to the work-piece
will cause damage to the cut edge. On the other hand, excessive gas flow can cause
over reaction (especially oxygen assisted metal cutting), and in any case is simply
wasteful. When cutting plastic materials, Low pressure(less than 25kPa) will help
to improve the glossiness and smoothness of cut edge. - however, some gas flow is
always required to ensure heat dissipation from the lens, to protect the lens from
contamination (by smoke, etc.), and to avoid simply burning or heating the material
instead of cutting.
4.The laser power obviously will affect the cutting, partly in terms of cutting
speeds, and partly in terms of ability to process some materials (depending on
thickness) altogether. In practice, maximum power setting may often be used, but
you should also realize that the mode quality of laser beam (its cross sectional
energy distribution) is equally important, and it usually deteriorates slightly as
power is increased. It can occur that the highest power density at the focal point
is obtained with less than maximum power level, and you may find that best cutting
result is achieved with a conservative power setting. Laser characteristics are not
always the same and may affect the mode quality of laser beam due to the following
factors: the service life of laser, the working status of optical parts, the mixing
ratio and gas flow of laser gas.
If at some stage the cut quality decreased greatly, firstly please check the
parameters discussed above.
a. Cleaning the lens:
Accumulated pollutants on the lens will cause it to heat up excessively, so as to
produce a "fuzzy" focal point (and of course it will damage the lens itself).
b. Integrity of the nozzle tip:
Non-circularity of the orifice or even partial blockage (usually caused by hot metal
spatter) can cause a vortex in the assist gas jet, producing obvious variations in
cutting performance.

c. Nozzle/beam alignment:
The focused laser beam must be concentric with the nozzle orifice (and the assist
gas flow), otherwise, part of the laser beam will be blocked by the nozzle. The
lateral position of the lens is set by adjustment knobs (on the lower portion of the
cutting head), which works as the lens mount.

adjustment and maintenance need to be done.
After the machine tool is running continuously for a long time, the friction will
produce natural wear and tear, then non-permissive gap or incapacity will come out.
Therefore, necessary adjustment and maintenance need to be done to restore the
accuracy of machine tool.
5.3.1 Bed
After the installation of machine tool, if found the accuracy of machine tool is
out of tolerance due to the reason of foundation instability, impact of seasonal
temperatures and operation under heavy duty, necessary adjustment and maintenance
need to be done to restore the accuracy of machine tool.
5.3.2 Transmission Device for the Machine Beam, Z-Box and Cutting Head
The machine beam and Z-box are driven by the rack and pinion to move along the linear
rails, users need to regularly add grease to the slider.
5.3.3 Safety Enclosure
Keep the safety enclosure clean. Do not take heavy stuffs onto the safety enclosure
to prevent deformations.
5.3.4 Lubrication of Machine Tool
The machine tool linear guides, ball screw and bearing are all lubricated with ZL2 lithium grease. Driving rack and pinion of X-axis, Y-axis and optical path
compensation device are automatically supplied with the AHD special grease by the
electrically controlled lubricator. The Gears of speed reducer are lubricated with
CLP HC synthetic oil. The drive chains are lubricated by brushing lubricating oil.
Linear guide, ball screw and bearing need to be injected with ZL- 2 lithium grease
once a year. Note that the solid lubricating materials (Such as graphite or MoS2)
are not allowed to grease linear guide and ball screw. For the driving rack and pinion
of X-axis, Y- axis and optical path compensation device, the felt gears are
automatically supplied with ADH special grease by electrically controlled
lubricator, then felt gears will mesh with the racks to achieve lubrication. (Replace
an electronically controlled lubricators every 6 to 12 months!), gear Vice need to
be injected with CLP HC synthetic lubricating oil every six months, it is recommended
to brush lubricating oil on the chain every three months.

Lubricating Materials
1. ZL- 2 lithium base grease (Does not contain lubricant additives such as graphite
or MoS2 solid).
Needle penetration: 265-295(1/10mm), Drop point≥175℃, It has advantages of good
water resistance , mechanical stability , anti-Aqueous and oxidation stability. It
applies to -20 - 120℃ temperature range.
2. CLP HC synthetic oil
ISO Viscosity grades: 220, Viscosity index:96, open flash point: 260℃, Pour point:
-21 ℃ , it`s extreme-pressure industrial gear oil, and it has excellent wear
properties.
3. The model number for Germany ATLANTA `s electronically controlled lubrication is
