FAST Use A word as a Noun & a Verb While changing a word into a noun or a verb the following points have to be kept in mind: The tense of the word cannot be changed E.g. : The word Travel cannot be made travelled or travelling . The word has to remain in its original form only, and only ‘s’ can be added E.g. Travel – travels While using the word in a sentence as a ‘Noun’ the article - ‘the’ can be used before the word E.g. Knock – The knock on the door was loud While using the word in a sentence as a ‘Verb’ the infinitive ‘to’ can be used before the word E.g. Knock – They had to knock on the door to get in.
