READING MONTH NARRATIVE REPORT
Reading without comprehension in not reading at all. This is one of the most known
statement about reading. And as an educator it a big challenge for us for today’s learners to help
them in their progress in their reading level. But aside from reading and comprehending, learners
may also develop their skills in other aspect. The Department of Education yearly celebrates the
Reading Month on November. Different activities were done in different grade level. For this
year’s celebration we have the theme, “Pagbasa ay Pahalagahan Tungo sa Pagtuklas ng
Karunungan”. Learners were so excited to join the said activities, same with us teachers. Because
after the pandemic it was the first time to have a face to face activity.
Our school, Lower Mainit ES joined the District-Wide Reading Month Culmination, and
garnered a place in different category. For the Kinder, draw and tell we were the Third placer, for
Grade 1 and Grade 2 Read and Tell also we were the 3rd placer and for the grade 5 and Grade 6
Choral Reading again we were the 3rd placer. Participants celebrates their wins, they were given
some school supplies and certificates. Coaches were also happy for the achievement of the
school and learners.
By the end of the day, our goal will still be the reading ability of our learners to be
address and we will face this challenge together, hand-in-hand because it is for the benefit of all
and for the brighter future of the learners.
