Jibo: A Social Robot for the Home During this case I learned a lot about the about how you can create a company around one idea. This case shows the muti level funding you can go through to support a revolutionary idea to break into the market, but it also shows that even if you have a revolutionary idea there are still land marks you need to reach in consumer interest and preorder sales. This case also showed me how establishing your leadership structure is highly important because you need one leader who should conference decisions but in the end makes the final decision. The last thing I learned was the need to focus on partners and how you can leverage potential partners to add value to your product. 1 What size developers should Jibo focus on? I believe focusing on smaller developers would allow Jibo to be more widely available to as many different costumers as possible. 2 How should the let the developers in? they should allow authorized developers (bigger established corporations) to be able to costumes as much as possible. But they should also have an enthusiast side that allows customers and smaller startup developers to program their own apps if they want to. 3 Should they charge for exclusivity? Yes and no they should charge for promotion, but they should allow monopolies to be established. Example If the NFL wants to be promoted as the number 1 sports option for the USA during football season they do that but don’t block people from hearing baseball highlights.
