Margarita, Baggao, Cagayan MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT KNOW ALL MEN BY THIS PRESENTS: This Memorandum of Agreement made and entered into this 29th day of September, 2021 at Baggao National Agricultural School- Sta. Margarita Annex, Sta. Margarita, Dalin, Baggao, Cagayan by and between: BAGGAO NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL SCHOOL- STA. MARGARITA ANNEX, herein represented by its REMEDIAL READING COORDINATOR, MRS. SANDRA S. MEMBRERE, and herein referred to as Donee; -----and---The BNAS-SM Brigada Pagbasa Volunteer Tutors Association, herein represented by MRS. BERNADETTE V. ORPILLA, and herein referred to as the Stakeholders: -WITNESSETHWHEREAS, with the Brigada Pagbasa as a form of 2021 Brigada Eskwela, as stated in Memorandum OU-LAPP No. Q-418, and in response to the call to intensify the advocacy for reading under DepEd Memorandum No. 173, s. 2019, with the theme “Hamon: Bawat Bata Bumabasa” (3Bs Initiatives), the DONEE acknowledges the need for partners and stakeholders to promote the culture of reading; WHEREAS, the STAKEHOLDERS will provide reading tutorial as voluntarily assistance to learners during after-school hours to help the latter read and become functionally literate; WHEREAS, the STAKEHOLDERS, in addition or other alternative contribution, shall support and initiate by donating reading materials, photocopier, and other printing materials; and health and sanitizing equipment or materials of COVID-19 and sanitation/proper hand washing hygiene information materials to aid in introducing protection and health protocols to learners, tutors and teachers. NOW, THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the above premises and mutual covenants, agreements and stipulations hereinafter set forth, the parties hereby agree jointly to be partners in the 2021 Brigada Pagbasa as a form of Brigada Eskwela; I. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE PARTIES 1. The DONEE shall: 1.1 Conduct Orientation to the STAKEHOLDERS on the processes and approach to implement for the Brigada Pagbasa; 1.2 Coordinate to the STAKEHOLDERS the List of Learners to undergo remedial reading; 1.3 Set tutorial class program for the Brigada Pagbasa 1.4 Oversee the management and implementation of the program, and utilization of resources in the process. 1.5 Monitor learners’ progress in reading. 1.6 Provide feedback to learners, tutors and parents. The STAKEHOLDERS shall: 2.1 Coordinate with the DONEE on the specification of the service, facilities, equipment, materials and other resources that the school needs in regards to Brigada Pagbasa; 2.2 Coordinate with the DONEE on the Tutorial Class Program; 2.3 Provide reliable and effective remedial reading instruction to struggling and non-readers; 2.4 Record learner’s progress in reading. II. EFFECTIVITY OF THE AGREEMENT This Agreement shall take effect upon the beginning of 2021 Brigada Eskwela and is automatically extended should the 2021 Brigada Pagbasa as form of Brigada Eskwela is extended by Department of Education.
