Just like the time that you’ve used those version, there is a similarities and feels familiar. But, if you are more expert to use the old version and new to MS Word 2016, you should first take some time to become familiar with the Word 2016 interface. MS Word is a word processing program created by Microsoft Corporation. Using this program, you can create, format, save and letter, not just letters even your reports, certificates and other documents. It is the most widely used word processor today and is used in most desktop and laptop computers. It is available in both Windows and Macintosh version. Microsoft Word is the most popular and widely used text editing application in the world. In 1983, the year where MS word’s first appearance, this app developed into a comprehensive editing suite that provides a support for users of all levels, students to businesses of all sizes, government agencies, and multinational corporations. Today, MS Word can be found on all modern operating systems (such as Windows, Mac OS, iOS and Android), and in several forms, including standalone release, Office 365 suite, MS Office Suite, and freeware viewer. Microsoft Word Free for Windows is available bundled form inside MS Office. Any of those versions can brings to access to a wide array of text editing, formatting, collaboration and publishing tools suitable for the needs of every user. With hundreds of millions of daily users, the MS Word Free relies on easy sharing and unified document structure, which includes document types such as *.doc, *.docx and*.dotx. The ribbon are composed of eight (8) tabs; Home, Insert, Design, Layout, References, Mailing, Review and View. These tabs have several groups of related command. File Tab It Displays the Microsoft Office Backstage view, which is a centralized space for all your file management task such as opening, saving, printing, publishing or sharing a file. Quick Access Toolbar It is located above the Ribbon, Quick access toolbar composed of commands include, Save, Undo, Redo and Print. In here, you can customize it by adding other commands that you use frequently. Tabs Tabs is located at the ribbon that composed of different task on each tabs. Group Name Each tab that is located at the ribbon has a group that is related on the displayed tabs. Insertion Point It is the blinking vertical line found at the word document window where we inserted the text and graphics that we input. Word Document Window This is where the active document is displayed. Status Bar Status bar is located at the left side of the word window that contains the information about the current document. It shows the page, line number, word count and the proof button. Also, this is where the Zoom slider located. View Options It contains buttons were you can see your document in different view modes; Print Layout, Full Screen Reading, Web Layout, Outline or Draft. Zoom Slider This is where you can Zoom in and Zoom out the view of your document. Vertical Scroll Bar It provides you to scroll up and down a document so you can see the display text that is unseen in your viewing area. Scroll Box This is where the scroll bar located that provides you to see your location in a document. Program-Level Control Buttons Located at the upper-right side of the window that contains minimize, restore and close program. Title Bar The area where the name of the document and program is displayed.
