With the b1611 (November 2016) release we removed the legacy Plateau Performance and Compensation licenses from all customer instances along with functional access to these features. As of 1805, the following features will not be supported in Learning: • Functionality related to user-level competencies, as these should be managed in SuccessFactors platform. Consequently, the following functions/tools are also not supported: • Competencies and Competency Profiles assignments to Users • Competency Gap Assistant, Competency Assessment Recorder, and Competency Assessment Editor to manage user-level competencies • Competency Portlet and the Initiate Self-Assessment capability will also be removed from Learning. Customers can use the SuccessFactors platform Competency Portlet instead. Customers will need to engage Professional Services to analyze their requirements and recommend SuccessFactors platform tools that can be implemented for the same functionality. © 2018 SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. All rights reserved. ǀ CUSTOMER 80 End of Life – Legacy Plateau Feature Removal and Data Purge As mentioned in prior webinars, we are now in the process of purging the data associated with the aforementioned legacy features from customer databases. Data deletion will include user data such as completed performance reviews, competency assessment history, and compensation data. If you have any questions or concerns, or would like to request an extract of your data prior to this process, the deadline is April 30, 2018. Please submit a request via the SAP Customer Support Portal: https://support.sap.com What happens to competencies? The supported usage of Competencies is to create them in SuccessFactors platform and synchronize to Learning using the Competency Connector - SF. Other usage models are not supported. Competencies can be associated with Items in Learning and competency ratings can be recorded by auto-assessment via Learning Event Recorder. The competency assessment data related to learning completions will continue to exist in Learning, and is not going to be purged. © 2018 SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. By Q3 2018, all SuccessFactors Learning customers (both validated and non-validated) will be required to be running the LMS in an integrated environment with the SuccessFactors platform enabled. Please engage with your Customer Engagement Executive to understand the benefits of using SuccessFactors Learning in an integrated environment and to help you formulate a plan for transition. Impact: As a result of the above, the following will take effect by Q3 2018: • Standalone learning customers will no longer be supported and will be required to become integrated (i.e. implement SuccessFactors Platform). • SSO authentication will shift to SuccessFactors Platform. That is, there will be no option to integrate via SSO directly into the LMS. • SOAP APIs will be deprecated; customers that still use any, will need to migrate to using OData APIs (might require custom APIs to be developed by Professional Services). • The “check system” feature for admins and end users will be deprecated. Update: For customers with an external user population that log directly into the LMS with an LMS username and password, in Q1 2019, Talent Profile will be replaced with an account management feature that will allow users to manage a limited set of fields. All rights reserved. ǀ CUSTOMER 82 “Native” learning users and native login What is currently supported? - External users logging in natively through Sites - Learning Administrators logging in natively to the LMS What is not supported? • Dual login (authenticating sometimes through SuccessFactors platform and sometimes through the LMS) • Internal users logging in natively Important: “support” for native learning user functionality will be limited to addressing defects. There will be no further enhancements made to such functionality and since it doesn’t align with product direction, it is in our plans to end support of native learning users by Q3 2020. Customers that continue to utilize this capability past that point will not be supported. We advise our customers to start engaging with Professional Services so they can be prepared for this transition. © 2018 SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. We are now starting to offer a more robust, cross-module framework built on the SuccessFactors Platform, which renders the LMS-specific functionality redundant. This is our final reminder that the LMS-specific “Event Rules” functionality is being deprecated in Q3 2018. Please be advised that there will be no migration path for rules created in the LMS to the centralized SuccessFactors platform framework. If you have any existing Event Rules configured, please delete them. This menu will go away by Q3 2018 © 2018 SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. We encourage you to begin testing and upgrade. How to upgrade: Currently, Catalog search and calendar view 3.0 can be enabled by setting Configuration> System Configuration> CATALOG catalogSearch3Enabled and calendar3Enabled to true, respectively. This new catalog supports all of the features of the old catalog, plus allows card or list view. A complimentary browse feature can also be enabled by setting Configuration> System Configuration> CATALOG catalogBrowseEnabled to true. Non-validated vs. Validated effective dates Non-Validated LMS Customers: Q4 2018 Catalog 2.0 will be removed from non-validated LMS customer instances with the 1811 release arriving in Preview on November 3, 2018 and in Production on December 1, 2018. Validated LMS Customers: Q2 2020 Catalog 2.0 will be removed from validated LMS customer instances with the 1908 release arriving in Sandbox and Preview in October, 2019 and in Production in March, 2020. End of Maintenance: Leading up to the retirement dates posted above, there will no longer be any maintenance activities, patches or bug fixes for Catalog Search 2.0 beginning Q2 2018. These tools have been replaced with modernized flows. Also note that Catalog 3.0 Assign to Others is only supported if the new Supervisor flow is enabled. We encourage you to begin testing and upgrade. How to upgrade: Currently, the new supervisor flow can be enabled by setting Configuration> System Configuration> LMS_ADMIN updatedSupervisorFlow to true. The updated user tool can be enabled by setting Configuration> System Configuration> LMS_ADMIN updatedSelfRecordLearningFlow to true. Non-validated vs. Validated effective dates Non-Validated LMS Customers: Q4 2018 The old Supervisor and User Tools will be removed from non-validated LMS customer instances with the 1811 release arriving in Preview on November 3, 2018 and in Production on December 1, 2018. They cannot support PERSON_GUID. • For existing customers that are using the SuccessFactors platform Employee Export and the SF User connector, we are automatically enabling the sync of PERSON_GUID and PERSON_ID_EXTERNAL. • New implementations will need to ensure that when setting up the employee export and Live Profile jobs, the provisioning option “For Internal User Sync Only” is enabled (this option includes the PERSON_GUID and PERSON_ID_EXTERNAL fields in the export file). © 2018 SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. All rights reserved. ǀ CUSTOMER 88 Custom implementations of syncing users between SuccessFactors platform and the LMS • If the customer is using APIs and creating users separately in SuccessFactors platform and the LMS, in order to continue using this approach they need to retrieve the PERSON_GUID after the user is created in SuccessFactors platform. An API such as: https://acmecompany.ondemand.com/odata/v2/User(‘testuser')?$select=defaultFullName,title,userId,personKe yNav&$expand=personKeyNav&$format=json) can be used for this purpose. That PERSON_GUID can then be used as one of the parameters in the LMS user creation API so that the accounts are properly linked together. • Customers that use file-based exports other than Employee Export in SuccessFactors platform or the SF User connector, will either need to migrate to using this standard method of integration or find a way to retrieve PERSON_GUID and feed it to the LMS via the SF User connector. © 2018 SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company. Purge logging keeps a record of the users (User ID, First Name and Last Name) that have been permanently deleted from the system. Subsequently a new setting was added to control the enablement of the logging, and it was turned off by default. In 1808 data that was populated in the Purge Logging table will be deleted if purge logging is disabled; this will be a one-time task. Action: Review the following setting in your system and enable it if you wish to log purged users.
