Gariando Researcher CHAPTER 1 The Background of the Study Introduction Education is peremptory, also considered as one of the most important things I their life that every individual most have. It is defined as a form of learning in which the knowledge habits and skills of an individual of a group of people are being transferred generation by generation trough teaching and training. Moreover, it regularly takes place under the guidance of the other people and it can be a self-taught process. Any experience that has a formative effect on the way one think feels, or act may be considered educational. That is the reason why Philippine government assign the budgetary priority (Article XIV section 5 of the 1987) Philippine Constitution to provide free educational to all. According to the readings education is totally beneficial is totally beneficial for our society as a whole. It is life-long process of each person that we need throughout life. However, we need education system that may get rid of ignorance or the lack of knowledge and may provide an access not only on basic education but also to the technical and higher education. Education is a teaching and learning process that involves teachers function is to teach young and older individuals, learning who will gam all the learning imported by them (Satu et. Al 2014) The factors affecting the academic performances help to awaken the respondents to work more to their academic performance in school and to inspire not only the student's but also for the students. Statement of the problem The purpose of the Study is to determine the academic performance of Grade 12 students under Humanities And Social Science (HUMSS) strand in section Fabugais in relation to their study Academic performance Specially it seeks to answers the following questions: 1.What is the profile of the respondents in term: of: A. Gender B. Age C. Family income D. Previous grades (including last year average) E. current grades (including first semester average) 2.What are the factors affecting the academic performance of the respondents? 3.How do gadgets affect academic performance? 4.What are the factors associated with health problems? CHAPTER II REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE CHAPTER III Methodology Researcher design A research design is the arrangement of condition for the exploration in a manner of the research that aims to get the valid data that are qualified to all certain characteristics and objectives in research. This research design uses phenomenological research, it is designed that researchers approach to explore people’s everyday lives experience and conceptualized in the interior of the individual’s awareness. The fundamental goal of the approach is to arrive at a description of the nature of the particular phenomena (Creswell, 2013). Research Respondents This study involves the participants of sections fabugais Grade-12 HUMSS students in Ayungon National High School- Senior High, Ayungon District, Division of Negros Oriental. In Section Fabugais, the male is 4 and the female 21. The researchers choose them because they are having a lot of factors that can affect their academic performance. They have varieties of interpretations and are honest with themselves in answering the questionnaire being provided. Researcher Environment The study will be conducted at Ayungon National High School – Senior High School located in Barangay Tampocon 1, Ayungon, Negros Oriental. It is along National highway in Barangay Tampocon 1 of municipal of Ayungon. Sampling Technique The researchers used the convenience sampling technique since it was the appropriate sampling technique to be used. Convenience sampling is the fastest way to recruit participants who are easily accessible and convenient to the researchers with regard to location, time, and willingness needed for the study. It focused on the Grade-12 HUMSS Fabugais students of Ayungon National High School- Senior High. SCOPE AND DELIMATION OF THE STUDY The scope of this study is about the factor affecting Grade 12 students in relation to their academic performance. Its primary concern is to know the factors that affect the study habit of Grade 12 students in Humanities and Social Science at Ayungon Senior high school. The areas of concern were the profile of the student their Academic performance and how the Grade 12 student's study habits in terms of family matters and peer relationships. The subject of the study were twenty-seven (27) Grade 12 students from section Fabugais Humanities and Social Science strand in Ayungon Senior High School, Ayungon Negros Oriental during the first semester of the school year 2022-2023 Chapter IV. Presentation, Analysis, and Interpretation of Data Data Gathering Procedure The researchers took the necessary steps to ensure that the required data were collected. First, a questionnaire and interview questions related to the research study were first created by the researchers. Second, Ms. Jean G. Fabugais, the teacher reviewed everything and added a question that is appropriate to use. Third, the researchers put everything in writing and obtained consent from the students who participated in the study. The researchers created survey questions that were administered face-to-face, and they also sought opinions about the types of research in which people had taken part, factors that affect academic performance in school that influence students school performance, changes in school behavior, and many other topics. DATA PRESENTATION WITH ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF THE DATA 1. The profile of the respondents according to their: A. There are sixteen Females in section fabugais and three Males. B. igure2. Their age is sixteen to seventeen. There are ten students ages sixteen years old to Seventeen. There are ten students aged sixteen years old to seventeen and eight students aged eighteen to nineteen years old. C. There is a family income of ten students having one thousand to two thousand, while four students have five thousand to ten thousand family income. D. Their previous grades (including last year average) eleven students having eighty-five to ninety Average, followed by six students having eighty to eighty-five and four students also got ninety to Ninety-Five and four students got ninety-five above total Average of their last grade. E. The HUMSS students fabugais (currents grades) Including first semester average. Eight students Got eighty-five to ninety and seven students also got eight to eighty-five while four students Got the high average which is ninety to ninety-five. 3. What are your hobbies at home? Thee hobbies that might affect the students their Academic performance fourteen students Listening music while studying. Twelve students watching movies, and eight students studying, six Students reading books. Some of them spent their time off playing gadget, dancing, reading Books, writing, cooking and adventure. 3. What are your hobbies at school? Students' hobbies at school. So, fifteen students are studying and thirteen students Talking to their friends most of the time. Nine students read books, five students use their gadgets. 4. How many hours/minutes you spent? Refers to your answer in #2 The time they spent for three studies- nine students studying in thirsty minutes, for Students also studied their lesson in just 1:30 minutes, and four students studied in just 2:30 minutes. Some of the three students studied 3:30 minutes: Three students studied Six hours and only one student studied at seven hours. The time that they spent for three hobbies base on their hobbies. Ten students studied in Thirty minutes, four students studied 3:32 minutes, one student studied at 4:30 minutes. 5. What are the things you can benefits from your hobbies? The things the students benefit from are their hobbies fourteen students find it for stress relief, while thirteen students find it just for happiness the ten students find it just for fun. And five students find it for belongings. 6. What are the factors affecting with the academic performance of G-12 HUMSS students fabugais? The factors affecting the academic performance of G-12 -students fabugais. The common problem the students find is a lack of time management. Nine students lack Time and five students work hard to make their parents. Seven students spend more time on social media. One student has laziness while the teacher discusses or is just sick. 7. What are the interventions to enhance the academic performance? Inventions to enhance academic performance. 12 students for their skill development Nine students find it to boost confidence, eight students find it to pursue their dreams Five students to maintain good grades, and four students studied to spend more time studying. While other students think positively, three students do their best. When doing something to achieve their goals in life.
