Welcome to the Contemporary Philippine Arts from the Regions Alternative
Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on Art Forms in the Philippines.
This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by
educators from public institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping the
learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming their
personal, social, and economic constraints in schooling.
This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and
independent learning activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims
to help learners acquire the needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration
their needs and circumstances.
As a facilitator you are expected to orient the learners on how to use this
module. You also need to keep track of the learners' progress while allowing them to
manage their own learning. Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist
the learners as they do the tasks included in the module.

Delivery Mode (ADM) Module on Art Forms in the Philippines.
Accomplishments are not achieved easily. Accomplishments come from
multiple attempts and failures, all taking time and effort in order to attain the desired
result. To be recognized, it is important for someone to work diligently and
meticulously. This is what the National Artists of the Philippines had been doing for
years and will continue to do so, resulting to them being renowned worldwide for their
talent. It is necessary to realize that because of the hard work put by these
internationally acclaimed artists, the Philippine culture became richer and many people
became inspired by the numerous creative works the artists provided to not only their
country, but also the whole world.
This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities
for guided and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled
to process the contents of the learning resource while being an active learner.
Engagement with the arts helps young people develop a sense of their own
identity and value. This in turn develops personal responsibility within their school and
wider community.

difference and diversity and the views of others

We may not be aware of it, but art is everywhere. The human race has been
relying on art since its creation, since it makes life more interesting. Art helped in
shaping cultures that gave us our own identities, promoting diversity of interpretations
and improvisation of ideas that may be used for benefit. Though art, we are introduced
to talented artists from different time periods, allowing us to distinguish how art
displayed man’s evolution from their timeless works of art. Art can be used as a
medium of self-expression and what makes art so special is how immersive is that
anyone, including yourself, can be an artist!

Studying various art forms integrated in Philippine artworks will provide you a

humid weather, cotton “breathes”.

3. A fabric woven by villagers in remote areas of the southern island Mindanao of
