I BELIEVE SPEECH
If at first, you don’t succeed, try again. My name is Micky and I believe it takes failure with determination to achieve success.
We all strive with the hope that one day we will achieve success. No matter how big or small we define success it takes some life lessons and
determination to be successful. Most of the time we tend to desire the easier way, forgetting that Rome was not built in a day. Many notable stories
began with failure. Like Henry Ford who went bankrupt before starting the Ford Motor Company or Thomas Edison who experimented thousands of
times before creating the light bulb.
In achieving success failure is valuable because failure allows us to know what works best. When we fail, we gain knowledge that compels us to put
our analytical and critical thinking abilities to work. It helps us reconsider strategies to achieve goals, and it strengthens us. So, I believe we should
not be afraid of failure, but rather should we encounter failure we should embrace it with optimism knowing that it is part of our road to success.
When we fail, we learn, we grow, and we gain knowledge.
It is not the end of the road when we encounter failure but rather an opportunity to explore and acquire better results. We only become a failure
when we give up or refuse to try one more time. I consider failure as a fuel that drives determination to achieve success.
The relentless pursuit of achieving a goal is what I call determination. It takes discipline and dedication to be determined. To be determined means
to be motivated, to be focused, to have a resilient mindset, and above all, never give up when you encounter failure. Being determined means
recognizing the value of working hard because the reward is worth it.
In life, failing is inevitable because we are all not perfect, but choosing to look at the bright side of it and taking that opportunity with determination
to know better is what makes success possible.
Just like all of decisions to seek education at Pierce College may come with some challenges triggering failure. These may include time constraints,
difficulty grasping a topic, or even failing a course, but I believe should we encounter such lapses on our path, we should never give up or lose hope
but rather keep moving on until success is achieved. I remember when I first came to this country, I got married, was in school, and had a baby, it
was hard taking care of a newborn baby and going to school, and it was just me and my husband. Nobody to help and as a young adult It was difficult,
so I had to defer my education to take care of my child but with determination after some time, went back to school and finished what I started and
here I am still thriving.
I believe when we fall, we rise, shake it off as Taylor Swift will put it “shake it off, shake it off” and continue with the race until our goal is achieved.
