Lecture Format • Blended course: Face-to-face lectures and video lectures • Face-to-face lectures – Daewoo Hall 102 – 12:00-12:50pm on Tuesdays – Course materials, practice problems, Q&A, etc. • Video lectures – Lecture videos covering all course materials will be posted at LearnUs (https://ys.learnus.org/) Attendance • Three lecture videos will be posted by Thursday of each week. • Students need to watch these videos by Wednesday (11:59pm in Korea Standard Time) of the following week. • 1 video = 1 lecture hour • 95% or more: attend • 50% or more but less than 95%: tardy • Less than 50%: absent Practice Problems • I will distribute practice problem sets, which are not to be submitted. • Students are recommended to try practice problems on their own (or by working in a study group). • I will post course materials as well as practice problems and solutions at LearnUs. Office Hours • Office Hours: Tuesday 4-5pm, or right after class • Students can ask questions on course materials or practice problems in face-to-face lectures. • They can also send me an email to set up an appointment for an (online/offline) office hour. Examinations • • • • Midterm Exam: 1:00-2:50pm on April 20 (Thu) Final Exam: 1:00-2:50pm on June 15 (Thu) Closed-book, in-class format No electronic devices (such as calculators) are allowed. Evaluation • Midterm Exam: 50% • Final Exam: 50% • Attendance – 1 point deducted out of 100 pts for 1 hour of absence beyond 3 hours – 1 tardiness = 0.5 absence – Absence≥15 ⇒ F letter grade Some Rules • You must take the exams at the specified time (i.e., no make-up exams). • If you miss both exams, you will get an F regardless of the reason. • If you miss one of the two exams for some reason, I will consult the university academic rules to determine your score for the missed exam. • If you miss at least one exam without providing me with a reason, you will get an F.
