BLUEDOTS YK365R Load Bank
YK365R Load Bank is designed for operation indoors and outdoors when
up to 365 kW of resistive load is required.
The YK365 load bank is a computing platform that combines comprehensive,
accurate and true RMS set of electrical measurements with control and monitoring
functions.
Enclosure
Auxiliary Supply
YK365R Load banks enclosure is
constructed using coated mild steel
sheet folded and welded to form a
substantial rigid structure.
The fan and control circuit may be
powered from an external auxiliary
supply or from the supply on test,
provided it is of the correct voltage and
frequency. The choice is being made
by operation of a selector switch.
Folded sheet steel enclosure is
finished with a full gloss paint with a
wide range of colours can be specified
by customers.
Unless specified by customers,
containers are finished with a yellow
paint and have under floor sealing.
Enclosures are also fitted with lifting
eyes and caster wheels.
Load Bank Ratings
Select from standard three phase
voltage ratings of:
 365kW at 440V, 60 Hz, with 5 kW
load step resolution (unit will
provide 325kW at 415V, 50Hz and
will de-rate to 300kW at 400V,
50Hz).
When operating from the supply on
test, the amount of current drawn from
the fan motor is monitored by the
control system and its value will
automatically integrated into a
component of the applied test load.
Cooling System
Proper cooling is provided by axial
metal-bladed aerofoil cooling fan. The
cooling fan is protected by an overload
relay.
The outside of the tube has a helically
formed stainless steel cooling fin
which progresses the full length of the
element.
The elements are fitted into an
element chamber with compression
type bulkhead glands enabling a
watertight transition of the terminal
pins through internal bulkhead to the
interior of the enclosure.
The elements are continuously rated
at the specific voltage. Tests at lower
voltages, with a corresponding
reduction in overall rating, may be
carried out.
The resistor elements are switched in
groups of various value by contractors
to provide a variable load with +-5%
accuracy.
Operator Controls
Load Components
YK365R load banks are fitted with wire
wound, insulated air-cooled resistor
elements.
Manual Control. The load banks are
very easy to operate, any desired load
can be selected by the operator via
turning on the correct combination of
toggle switches located behind the
control panel door.
Other controls available are one step
On/Off load function and Fan
operation control.
Automatic Control. The load banks
are controlled by the Bluedots
Commander unit, a sophisticated
computer control system designed
with a choice of remote-control
module (optional).
The Bluedots Commander unit is
mounted on the load bank to enable
user to enter instruction entry using
user friendly menus with up to 8 digits
password protection to prevent
unauthorized usage, via the keyboard
and touch screen display.
Unit thus carries out all the computing
algorithm needed for calculation and
controls
of
complex
loads,
measurement, storage and display of
data.
During operation the screen of the
control terminal displays the following
data:
 Time elapsed from start of test
 Target Load or applied load (kW)
 Measured voltage Line- Line and
Line-Neutral.
 Measured frequency.
 Measured current in each phase
 Measured KW/ph and total kW
 Measured KVA/ph and total KVA
Commander Online PC Software.
Commander Online is a Windowsbased PC software specially designed
for Bluedots Load Banks fitted with
commander unit.

This software provides remote service
function includes: control, adjustment,
monitoring, Trend Viewing, data
logging, event logging and report
generation.
Network Link (Multi-Load bank
Control)
Up to 9 units of load banks in total can
be link into one single network
consisting of one (1) master and eight
(8) slaves to achieved higher loads
with centralize control. A combination
of load banks with different capacities
is also allowed in the system. Target
load will be distributed and controlled
according to the capacity of individual
load bank in the network.
Safety Features
Temperature sensors and Air-flow
switches are installed to monitor the
element plate temperature and inlet
flow of cooling air. These switches are
electrically inter-locked with the load
application. If the fans are not working
properly, the load steps are disabled
and an error message is displayed on
the load bank and also on the remote
module PC (if connected). Load
Groups are also fitted with fuses and
breakers.
