Periodic Table License Plate
Your job is to use your Periodic Table and create a personalized license plate
for your car using combined proper element symbols. You can put whatever
you want on your license plate, as long as it is between 5-12 letters and
appropriate for school. Use markers, colored pencils, or crayons to
decorate your license plate.
Requirements:
1. It must be completed on a piece of 6in x 12in cardboard covered with
construction paper, wrapping paper, foam etc…
2. Everything you put on it has to be cut out and glued. Nothing
handwritten!! You may type on a computer, print and cut out, or use
pre-made letters.
3. On the back of the license plate you must list the elements used in
order.
4. Choose a state and a saying at the bottom of the license plate.
For Example:
Room for Brainstorming:
For extra credit:
Make a license plate that a famous scientist would have
had on their cars (assuming they had cars). Scientists to
use include Democritus, Thompson, Rutherford, Bohr,
Mendeleev, Einstein, Edison etc…. You must write an
explanation of why this scientist would have this on his or
her plate, and it should correspond with something they
researched or found out about the atom, periodic table,
or general science. (Pick one scientist for a possibility of
5 points added to your grade.)
