VOYAGE TO CRETE The magic island decided to call you and share her secret with you Theseus and the ten children sail from Athens to Crete with the black sails up. Mina performs the journey with the children. Cherry will move a sheet together with other helpers from the audience to represent the brave sea. The children enter blind folded. Each of them will have a guide to help them get out of this island. The story will be recorded. The day of the performance, we can have different groups in charge of different senses and we can invite them to enter the Aula Magna in three large groups so we have three presentations per classroom. What would a tree tell you? Imagine if you were a tree, what would you tell the audience??? It takes a lot of time and energy to share with you my fruits, but I do it from the top of my heart because I care about you! Try different fruits from the earth, and vegetables, from the trees. (walking in a funny get they get on the ship) The group walks exploring the Island. Students prepare a path. They will need to walk and crawl on the floor. Theseus: Be careful. You will need to kneel down. THESEUS: Take the oars! Let’s row! Rowing, rowing! Rowing! Rowing! GOOD! Rowing, rowing! Rowing! Rowing! FASTER please faster! Rowing! ( A fan?) [Music E] ACTION: (Waters become calmer. Theseus and the children keep on rowing until they stop.) Rowing rowing rowing rowing…(slowing down the rhythm) Hey! Look! LAND! LAND! Let’s get off the boat! Be careful! The water is cold! (walking through the water until they arrive) Splash splash splash. MUSIC STOPS Theseus: Come on children! Follow me! Walking! Walking Walking! STOP! Nobody here. Nobody there. Let’s go. Walking! Walking! Walking! Walking! Ahhhhh! (hugs a kid) The Minotaur! The Minotaur! Ohhh it was nothing ha ha. Let’s keep on. King Minos is waiting for us! Move slowly. One step at a time. ONE… TWO… THREE (big steps) one two three (small steps) (Walking in a circle towards the palace) Look! The Labyrinth! (Action looking) Let’s keep on walking! The palace is near. Meanwhile, Cherry gets ready to perform as King Minos. She sits on the throne and waits for the kids to arrive. Theseus arrives and shows the children where to stand up in a semi- circle around King Minos.
