VOYAGE TO CRETE
The magic island decided to call you and share her secret with you
Theseus and the ten children sail from Athens to Crete with the black sails up. Mina
performs the journey with the children. Cherry will move a sheet together with other
helpers from the audience to represent the brave sea. The children enter blind
folded. Each of them will have a guide to help them get out of this island.
The story will be recorded. The day of the performance, we can have different
groups in charge of different senses and we can invite them to enter the Aula Magna
in three large groups so we have three presentations per classroom.

In this island you will learn the secrets of the universe, we are the flowers, we
whisper the beauty of earth- they can see a song, share this with human beings//
Smell smell//
Performers:
Group 1
SIGHT (5)People who accompany the blind-folded audience. They should
comfort them and help them achieve their goals.
STARS WE are the stars, we give light to the dreams that you
have in your hearts, Make a wish and it will come true
Group 2 TASTE Hello we are the fruits and vegetables, we will help you grow
well! What would a tree tell you? Imagine if you were a tree, what would you tell the
audience??? It takes a lot of time and energy to share with you my fruits, but I do it
from the top of my heart because I care about you! Try different fruits from the earth,
and vegetables, from the trees. People in charge of the food post so that the blind
audience can
guess what they are eating before they get out of the island.
Group 3
SMELL
We paint the earth with colours! We take care of the earth! Flowers dan color y
condimentan la vida. Why do you think flowers were created? What for?
Touch different flowers and plants taken from the orchard// grass / rosemary/
species// Earth// you decide// People in charge of preparing different elements to be
smelled.
What for? They should also help Group 4.
Group 4
HEARING wind
People in charge of recording the story. Or create noises and
special effects.

touching plants in charge of special effects. For example, water/ wind/

Playwrights (3) People in charge of creating the script for everybody to
follow.
Each group should prepare a special difficulty to access their post. For
example, in order to taste the food, the audience will need to kneel down
and crawl like a baby.
Each post should be on the way before they get to the stage. We can
have the voyage on the stage with people throwing water and wind.
THE JOURNEY
Theseus: Ok. Let’s get on the ship! (walking in a funny get they get on
the ship)
The group walks exploring the Island. Students prepare a path. They will need
to walk and crawl on the floor.
Theseus: Be careful. You will need to kneel down.
THESEUS: Take the oars! Let’s row! Rowing, rowing! Rowing! Rowing!
GOOD! Rowing, rowing! Rowing! Rowing! FASTER please faster!
Rowing, rowing, rowing, rowing, rowing, rowing! Good.
Theseus: Uh! Be careful! It’s so windy!!! Oh my! (goes to one side and
to the other side) The ship! The ship is going to sink! (goes down )
Come on! OHHHH no! (Moves from one side to the other) Let’s keep
on rowing! Rowing! Rowing! Rowing!
Sense
[Music C]
ACTION: Oh! My! It’s so hot now! What’s wrong? It’s so so hot…
(Mimes being hot) Look at the sky! It’s so dark! (action) Listen! There
must be a storm coming!! I’m melting. ( Action 3) Come on! Let’s keep
on rowing! Rowing! Rowing! Rowing!
[Music D]
ACTION: Oh no… A HAIL STORM! Be careful! The sky is falling down!
It hurts! (covers her head with her arms) It’s so cold! It’s freezing cold!
(Shivers) Let’s keep on rowing! Rowing! Rowing! Rowing!
( A fan?)
[Music E]
ACTION: (Waters become calmer. Theseus and the children keep on
rowing until they stop.) Rowing rowing rowing rowing…(slowing down
the rhythm) Hey! Look! LAND! LAND! Let’s get off the boat! Be
careful! The water is cold! (walking through the water until they arrive)
Splash splash splash.
MUSIC STOPS
Theseus: Come on children! Follow me! Walking! Walking Walking!
STOP! Nobody here. Nobody there. Let’s go. Walking! Walking!
Walking! Walking! Ahhhhh! (hugs a kid) The Minotaur! The Minotaur!
Ohhh it was nothing ha ha. Let’s keep on. King Minos is waiting for us!
Move slowly. One step at a time. ONE… TWO… THREE (big steps)
one two three (small steps) (Walking in a circle towards the palace)
Look! The Labyrinth! (Action looking) Let’s keep on walking! The palace
is near.
Meanwhile, Cherry gets ready to perform as King Minos. She sits on the throne and
waits for the kids to arrive. Theseus arrives and shows the children where to stand
up in a semi- circle around King Minos.
