farm

I am considering on converting to growing sugar canes. This is a great opportunity for me
and my family. The sugar cane would be exported and I could earn lots more money than I
would be selling my own crops in the market. This way I have more money in my pockets to
buy food locally. I would also be able to afford medical and school bills so that my children
could get good education and get better jobs in the city. I would also be able to employ my
relatives to help me out in the farm. This seems like a great chance for a better future.
On the other hand, there are also many consequences for me and my family. I won’t be able
to set prices up to my own standards. If The buyers always seek to reduce prices to a
minimum, I won’t make much of a profit. Strictly growing sugar canes will also make me
very vulnerable to changes in demand. If people stop consuming much of the sugar cane,
my income would drop significantly and I wouldn’t be able to put food on the table. I’d have
to go move and work in towns or cities. I’d also have to give up my land, and the big
plantations would control everything, even where we live.
