www.ghara.org • help@ghara.org PROJECT MANAGER (GENERIC) POSITION DETAILS Division: Region of Karnataka Trust Unit: Karnataka Position Title: Project Manager Location: Bangalore Primary Purpose of the Position Implement projects and undertake activities related to the planning and delivery of effective services and options to GHARA clients, and provide advice for GHARA Trust which reflects contemporary needs and innovative responses for people with an intellectual disability and their families/carers. Work Performed Develop, implement and co-ordinate single issue and less complex projects which address current and future service delivery needs. Participate in internal and external focus groups and working parties for GHARA and the sector. Provide proactive and authoritative advice to the Board of Trustees, to ensure all Trustees are aware of project milestones which will impact on current projects and future decision-making. Maintain key internal and external stakeholder relationships based on open and regular discussion and feedback. Work collaboratively within the team in joint projects and with other team members to achieve performance on key work priorities and contribute to a ‘can do’ reputation. Key Challenges and Influences Project/research work may have elements of complexity in term of multiple issues, sensitivity of impacts or relationships but is usually of more straightforward nature. Providing well researched and balanced advice within tight timeframes. A problem solving approach necessary to produce a solution-focused result. Decision Making Formal approval is necessary for decisions or significant actions which involve commitment of GHARA to specific strategies or expenditure project-related funds. The position holder makes decisions in conjunction with the board of trustees about implementation of aspects of allocated projects. The position holder is responsible for scheduling of their own work and may coordinate their work with other team members.
