1: Import License- An import license is a document issued by a national government authorizing the
importation of certain goods into its territory.
Example:
2: Bill of Lading- This is a document issued by a carrier to acknowledge receipt of cargo for shipment.
Although it is usually related only to transportation by sea, a bill of lading may be used for any type of
carriage of goods.

3: Air waybill- An air waybill or air consignment note is a receipt issued by an international airline for
goods and an evidence of the contract of carriage. It is not a document of title to the goods. The air
waybill is non-negotiable.

The Role of Transport in Marketing:
Transport plays a key role in marketing, which helps in carrying goods to the scattered
consumers in different places, narrows the gap between producers and consumers and facilitates
to distribute goods to the consumers at minimum cost and time.
The Importance of Transportation in Domestic, Regional and Foreign Trade:
The principal role of transport is to provide or improve access to different locations for individuals and
businesses. Transport thus facilitates a wider range of social and economic interactions than would
otherwise be possible. Transport is an important sector of the economy in its own right. It is essential to
the efficient working of the economy, bringing together the inputs used in the production of goods and
services and getting outputs from the production process to customers.
Thus, transport plays the most vital role in all forms of trade.
