About ASF and Biosecurity Highlights of interview with Department of Agriculture-Regulatory Division Highlights of interview with LGU-Municipality of Floridablanca C. DEFINE PHASE C.1 Summary of Problems Incomplete infrastructures for a piggery such as please refer to checklist Lack of training for farm workers and owners No proper Farm Sanitation and Environmental Management Program Insufficient animal records No established biosecurity measures C. 2 Insights The farm personnel and the owners, due to a lack of training and necessary skills and knowledge of the proper piggery business operations and biosecurity measures, have failed to fully comply with the standard farm management practices of the Department of Agriculture. The farm's strategic location and its substantial size, as well as the owners' willingness to re-invest, can be utilized by the company to recover from the outbreak and get back to business. Overall, the company has to adopt written and documented standard operating procedures, effective biosecurity measures, and a contingency plan to prevent the spread of the virus in the event of its possible reintroduction into the area. C. 3 Challenge Questions 1. What are the next courses of action that Robust can take to be able to start its operation again? 2. How can Robust Farm become more resilient in the face of the threat of disease outbreaks like ASF? 3. What biosecurity measures will be most effective in mitigating the impact of these viruses?
