Properties of light
Light is a form of energy. It travels in straight lines.
Light rays travel from the source of light until they hit an object. This is why we see straight
beams of light coming from flash lights, car headlights and lamps of lighthouse.
Light can travel through vacuum of space. If not earth would not receive light from the sun.
Properties of light
Light travels from a light source. Sun, stars, light bulb,
flame etc. are light sources.
When light strikes matter, 3 things can happen

Light can be transmitted- Light passes through the substance it strikes.
Transparent- Light passes through, so you can see clearly.
Translucent - Light passes through but it is scattered so you cannot see clearly.
Opaque- Light does not pass through.

Light gets absorbed- Light passes into the substance and it is held there.

Light can be reflected- Light strikes a substance and bounces back.
