Adjectives
An adjective (adj.) is a word that
describes a noun or pronoun.
Example
• A big cat is in my yard.
• They are thirsty.
• He looks happy.
How to use adjectives
• Adjectives are usually in front of nouns.
• i.e. A BIG cat is in my yard.
Or
• After the BE verb (is/am/are/was/were)
• i.e. They are THIRSTY.
Or
• After the senses
(look/feel/smell/taste/sound)
• i.e. He looks HAPPY.

When two things are the same we use the term…

Both cars are as fast as each other.
When two things are different we add
er to the end of the adjective.

If adjectives have many syllables we
put more (less) in front of the
adjective.
The right car is more expensive.
The right car is more expensive than the left
car.
