What is design thinking?
Design thinking refers to the set of cognitive,
strategic and practical procedures used by
designers in the process of designing, and to
the body of knowledge that has been
developed about how people reason when

RaPID CONCEPT DEVELOPEMENT
Create one or more highlevel designs so they can
be discussed and
adjusted before
progressing to 30%
design.
DEVELOP
Process of creating multiple
iterations of concepts for
review tends to highlight
stakeholders’ priorities that
weren’t brought up in the
initial list of project criteria.
brainstorm
In case of various
stakeholders, it puts the focus
on progressing the
underlying design to a point
that everyone’s needs are met
IMPLEMENT
There are a limited number of
“right” ways to do things, and
part of job is to figure out the
client’s goals for the project
Assumption testing

Focuses on identifying
assumptions about a
new business idea and
using available data to
assess the whether they
will turn out to be true.
These assumptions
are then tested
through thought
experiment, followed
by field experiment.
Once the assumptions
are filtered, identify
the data that provides
conclusive evidence to
prove them.
Examine the ideas
further, paying special
attention to the ideas
that could prove it
wrong.
conclusion
Design isn’t just about making things
beautiful; it’s also about making
things work beautifully.
