Electromagnet device consisting of a core of magnetic
material surrounded by a coil through which an electric
current is passed to magnetize the core
Electromagnets usually consist of wire wound into a coil. A
current through the wire creates a magnetic field which is
concentrated in the hole in the center of the coil.
•The strength of an electromagnet’s magnetic field may be
increased by:
Increasing the current in the coil
Adding more turns to the coil

WORKING PRINCIPAL OF
ELECTROMAGNETS:
It works on the principle of the magnetic effect of
electric current.
It consists of a long coil of insulated copper wire
wrapped around a soft iron core that is
magnetized only when an electric current passed
through the coil.
To make electromagnet we take a ferromagnetic
material and wrap it with copper wire around it
then the 2 ends of the wire will connect to a
battery to form an electromagnet
By adding number of coils and the size of
the iron core it can have stronger
electromagnet
