4.3 Lindapter Specifications for Primary Beams
The lindapter specification was chosen based on the maximum tensile force that is exerted on the existing
structure due to the load from the newly introduced pipe supports. From the analysis result, four 16mm
diameter bolt and a 12mm thick plate with a capacity of 6552lbs(29KN) was adopted.
However, the maximum tensile force on the existing structure is 3.23KN which is less than the capacity of
four 16mm diameter bolt. The table below shows the load carrying capacities of different bolt sizes and the
corresponding plate specifications to be adopted.
