beloved student, do you know that WAS is the
form V2 (past tense) of is/am (to be), and
WERE is the form V2 of are (to be)?
WAS is for SINGULAR SUBJECT
(I,he,she,it), and WERE is for PLURAL
SUBJECT (you,they,we).
Well, for today lesson we are going to learn the
use of WAS,WERE in the simple past sentence
pattern by the theme : Under the Sea.

going to learn the sentence pattern of simple
past WAS,WERE
In English, there are a lot of ways to express
your thoughts, feelings or actions. One of them
is verb “to be” but it is a hard-to-learn subject
for kids and beginners because most of other
languages don’t have a verb like “to be”
Actually “to be” is the base form of the verb. It
may change depend on the tense:
• Present: am/is/are
• Past: was/were
Well, in this time I give you some examples the use
of was/were by using animals under the sea.
The dolphin was blue colour.
The dolphins were mammals.

Why do we use verb Was Were? Examples
Most of the time when we use “was were”, we
talk about names, age, feelings, situations,
nationalities, professions, etc. Don’t forget that
when we use “was were”, we talk about past
situations.
Yes/No questions are questions which we
answer with Yes or No. We make Yes/No
questions by putting the first part of
the verb in front of the subject:
Look at the example!
Was lobster on the coral reef yesterday?
You can answer Yes, it was or No, it was not
Okay leaders, after you’ve listened to my
