Jasmine A. Davis 10 - Pangahas Priceless Treasure Chest "Knowledge is the greatest power." "Education is the key to success." Those are the quotes that I often hear from people around me. Well, I agree but for me success is determined in your courage, determination, willingness to explore and learn new things. But going to school and having a great education tend to give more opportunity to reach your dream and walk down toward the path of success. And speaking of school, memories and experiences have been part of every student's life, it is a treasure that is priceless. There are memories of good and bad days, mistakes that we can laugh about and also the mistakes we can not laugh. As one of those students, I also have a treasure chest of experiences. A memory lane of my high school life. It is full of happiness, dull moments, adventures and hardships. It was three years ago since I stepped into this school -the Hilusig National High School. I met new teachers and new classmates who became my friends. I have experienced many things and have collected new experiences since that day. The excitement that I felt grew more each day I spent in school. I can describe it as fun and joyous going around and gathering information about specimens and cells of plants. Also, I never thought I would come out of my comfort zone and join a pageant once again. The room is always full of laughter and craziness. I cannot help but laugh with them in the smallest things. Walking down the memory lane, I have one experience that I will never forget; the invasion of parasites in our classroom. With that, we had also experienced having a class outside and under the tree. It is like we are birds free from the cage but in total control and never leave the place, noisy but peaceful at the same time. The room full of laughing students who are having fun have vanished when pandemic came, the face to face classes were suspended and modular learning and online classes implemented. As a regular type of a student, I am having a hard time coping up with the lessons. And I cannot just depend on the internet. I felt like I am not learning at all. Realizing, time flies so fast the older you get. It feels like all those things happened in a split of a second. I was in seventh grade three years ago and now I am in the tenth grade. I am able to see and meet my friends, classmate, make new friends and new classmates everyday due that the face to face classes has resume. While seeing them, I can totally say that we have changed not just is physical aspects but also in manner and behavior. Some became mature, quiet and more approachable, some stay the same but the seed of friendship the we plant years ago have grown and become stronger. The things that I learned over the course of my school life as a student of Hilusig National High School will stay with me forever. It is a unforgettable journey which will remain in my inner soul. It is in school where I learn great things about myself and found myself and experienced the least things that I expected. It shaped my identity of who I am now and became a wonderful chapter in my life time. I have learned valuable things that will be remembered. It had been indeed a golden period of a school life.
